One of the contents of the pre-job training for new employees is medical ethics and medical style education. The new employees are all highly educated young people, they have their own ideas, and they do not like to preach and inculcate the so-called three outlines and five permanent principles. Their concept is: laws, regulations, rules and regulations should be complied with, otherwise they will be punished. As for ethics, if it is not a rigid constraint, if it is good for you, you will do it, and you will not be bothered to pay attention to it if it is not good. But for psychology and metaphysics, they are both curious and skeptical, and have a strong desire to learn about the truth of the world and the universe. Why do they live for people? There is more thinking about the meaning of life than the previous generation.
I combined the Tao Te Ching, the I Ching and the Bible to make my own understanding of morality. The morality that we are accustomed to talking about is different from the morality mentioned in the Tao Te Ching and the morality in the Analects. In the Tao Te Ching, "Tao" can be roughly understood as a law, a law or truth that heaven and earth have themselves; "Virtue" is based on the rules or behavioral norms formed in accordance with such laws and regulations. To paraphrase the first sentence of the Tao Te Ching: "Tao is very Tao", "Tao" is not something that can be described in words, when we express it in words, we have already been imaged and deviated from the truth. But it can help us understand the truth from all dimensions, although the leopard in the tube, although one-sided, but the more parts we see, the closer we can get to the whole picture. Listening is clear, we need to observe and think in all dimensions.
Everyone lives in the world to pursue something, and modern people will be more utilitarian. Why are there more and more people with mental illness now? The more abundant the material, the more unhappy people seem to be. What is the truth of the world? From modern science, quantum mechanics, the philosophies of the ages, all religions are looking for the answer to the same question: Who am I? Come from**? Where are you going? What is the origin of the world? How will it develop? What is the destination?
The Tao Te Ching boils this down to the "Tao", and the truth lies in the "Tao". Insight into the secrets of the Tao and thinking and acting according to the principles of the Tao is the norm of virtue. The end result is success and fulfillment.
Let's take a sentence from the Tao Te Ching to start saying: The way of heaven is more than enough to make up for the deficiency, but the way of man is not, and the loss is not enough to give more than enough. There is a similar passage in the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible: "Whoever has will be given to him, that he may have more, and whoever has not will take what he has." This sentence was summed up by later generations as the Matthew effect. These are the truths and the laws of the universe.
What the Bible says, we see everywhere in real life. Those who have resources will attract more and more resources, while those with few resources will have less and less access to resources. This phenomenon can also be seen in our clinical research team, where a person who performs well in his work receives more attention and resources, which in turn makes him stand out more and be more qualified to receive more resources and honors and even positions. In the team, everyone may make similar contributions, but the credit is often given to the person who already has the prestige. This is in line with the laws of the world and the laws of reality. Therefore, all of us, especially the newcomers who have just come out, should do a good job in the "way of people", use special efforts to improve their technology and service capabilities, and strive to start the Matthew effect on themselves. This is also what the I Ching says: "Tianxingjian, a gentleman is constantly striving for self-improvement". We must be aggressive, have the technology and ability to serve patients, which is also the first manifestation of morality, and we must have good medical ethics, which is the first one.
In addition, we should also pay attention to the Tao Te Ching's "The way of heaven is to make up for the deficiency by losing more than is lost". This is the principle of heaven, the self-regulating mechanism of the universe, and a kind of truth. How to understand it? Take our profession as an example, a doctor, after it activates the Matthew effect, naturally has wealth and status. But it would be a mistake if he regarded wealth and the like as the ultimate pursuit, thinking that the Matthew effect would work forever. When wealth reaches a certain point, it is inevitable that it can no longer pursue the growth of wealth. We often say that virtue should be matched, and how much wealth you can have without problems depends on your virtue. If you can do not forget the original intention and be virtuous, then you are doing the "way of heaven" by yourself, and you will have more resources to benefit people in need, and your virtue will be improved, and there will naturally be more resources to adapt, which is what I Ching said is virtuous, which is in line with the laws of heaven and earth. Otherwise, if you continue to do whatever it takes to increase your wealth, then the Heavenly Dao will work, and he will adjust and distribute your excess to those who need it in various ways. It may be that the curse will be ushered in. Real-world examples of this abound. The so-called sky is mad and there is rain, and people are crazy and there are disasters, which is the truth.
Matthew 7:30 says, "Do not give up on yourselves, and do not despise yourselves, for you are called to be born, and your task is to serve others."
Morality is to follow the laws of heaven and earth, listen to one's original call to duty, work diligently, feel love, and spread love, so as to make oneself richer.
If we seriously study and think about it, we will find that all religions and science point to the truth of the universe are in fact the same source, but they use different carriers, adopt different angles, and express them.
