After I graduated from university, I was urged by my father to take the civil service exam. Eventually, I managed to get into our county's IRS.
However, in the first year of work, I realized that my salary level was not high, only six or seven thousand yuan per month, which was even more meager after deducting five insurances and two housing funds. In addition, the long hours of overtime also made me feel very painful.
At the same time, I found that my salary was equivalent to one-tenth of that of my classmates in Beijing and Shanghai. I thought about quitting my job, but I was worried that it would hurt my father's feelings, so I chose to stay.
Despite this, I often quarreled with my parents, and my mother tried to comfort me that it would not pay very well when I first started working. She also thinks that it is good to be in the tax office, and believes that the salary will increase in the next few years. According to my mother, work within the system is relatively stable.
Although I had always been skeptical, I gradually realized that my mother was right. She stressed the fierce competition in the outside world, and many graduates of elite universities have difficulty finding their dream jobs. Now that I'm 30 years old, looking back, I slowly understand that my father's advice was the right choice.
It's hard to find a stable job right now. In addition, working in a company is very stressful, starting early in the morning and often working overtime in the evening. You can't rest all day long. If you fail to complete the performance, you will be deducted the bonus. Compared with enterprises, it is still good in the system.
