Leaving the beautiful Seoul City University, I walked back to Cheongnyangni Subway Station. Take Line 1 and go straight to Seoul Railway Station. I think that although I didn't have the opportunity to experience the trains in Korea this time, it was worth feeling the largest train station in Korea.

When you step out of the subway, you will be greeted by the brand-new Seoul train station. The new Seoul Railway Station was inaugurated in 2004. Although it is a modern building with a glass curtain, it has a Byzantine dome and a Renaissance façade. It's really new and chic. But when I see more and more **, I don't have the will to go in, just look at the appearance.

On the right side of the new Seoul Station is the old Seoul Station (Seoul Station). It was built in 1925 as a major project for the Japanese colonization of the Korean Peninsula that year. It is also a very tasteful Western-style building. It is said to be based on the Amsterdam station in the Netherlands and the Helsinki station in Finland. It was not closed until the opening of the new Seoul Railway Station in 2004. In fact, it has been the gateway to transportation in Seoul for the past 80 years. Today, however, the old Seoul Station has taken on a new role – a small exhibition hall.

I wandered around the narrow square in front of the old Seoul Station. There is not only a bronze medal commemorating the 100-year-old history of the Korea National Railways, but also a statue of a standing figure. Judging from the appearance of wearing Hanbok, it should be a national hero of South Korea. Of course, it's very memorable.

Don't look at South Korea, which has entered the ranks of developed countries, but you can still see a lot of unkempt homeless people in front of the train station. Later, after reading a lot of information, I realized that this is the place with the largest concentration of homeless people in Seoul. Obviously, this is a real problem that every international community cannot avoid. Undoubtedly, this is the dark side of Seoul's "dirt".

In front of the old and new Seoul stations, there are rows of dense ground transportation hubs, and people crossing the street often wait for a long time. Further south is the long-distance bus station in Seoul. There is no doubt that this area is always crowded. But busy but orderly. Looking back at the old and new Seoul stations behind me, I think it is not just a simple functional upgrade, but also full of people's deep memories of history and hopes for the future.
