From June 1, 2023, the port of Vladivostok, also known as the port of Vladivostok in Russia, will become a domestic trade port in China.
Vladivostok is about 180 kilometers away from Hunchun City, Jilin Province, China. The climate here is a typical temperate monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of about 4 degrees Celsius, and it is a well-known ice-free port that can be navigated all year round.
After Vladivostok becomes China's domestic trade port, China can do the best at sea with Japan and South Korea, and the sailing distance of the United States, Canada and other countries is also shortened a lot, which can greatly stimulate the economic development of China's northeast region. List of high-quality authors Why is Russia suddenly so kind and so polite? Is this Vladivostok ready to be returned to our country?
This has to start with the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has lasted for more than 700 days so far. During the conflict, Russia suffered from various sanctions from Western countries led by the United States, and most countries in Europe supported Ukraine.
Russia's move to the east is actually to the Far East. Before the invasion of Ukraine, Russians paid little attention to the development of the Far East, which was regarded by Russians as a barren land that was not suitable for human development, even though the Far East had a large amount of mineral and oil resources.
As the world's largest territorial power, Russia's Far East has a land area of 6.21 million square kilometers, almost two-thirds of China's land area. More than the territorial area of the vast majority of countries in the world.
As a fighting people, the Russians liked nothing more than to encroach on the territory of other countries, which is said to have been influenced by the Mongols. But Russians are lazy and belong to the owners who like to eat more and occupy more. A huge Far Eastern region, from the Soviet Union to the present Russia, has never really been operated, and there has been no excessive development and construction.
Of course, there are certain reasons for this.
The Far East is colder than the Northeast of China, and the living conditions here are indeed relatively poor, no one wants to live here, and it is very difficult to develop here. The main thing is that Russia has been developing and operating the European part before, and its energy has not been paid attention to the Far East at all.
Now, with the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Western countries have imposed sanctions on Russia and blockaded Russia's economy, and Russia has no room for development in Western Europe. At this time, Russia remembered to go eastward, develop the Far East, and increase economic and trade exchanges with Asian countries, especially bilateral cooperation with China. Faced with internal and external troubles, the Russians had to pull our country together and cooperate in the development of the Far East. Russia is well aware that it is not realistic to rely on Russians to develop the Far East, and can only hand over the responsibility for the development to our country.
As far as Japan is concerned, we are happy to accept that not only can Vladivostok be used as a domestic trade port, but also can slowly find a sense of presence here.
For Vladivostok, the Chinese people have special feelings, more than 100 years ago, here was once China's territory, in ancient times was China's most important port to the outside world. In the early days, it was the main settlement area of the Jurchen and Oroqen ethnic groups. During the Qing Dynasty, this was the jurisdiction of Jilin Province.
The important geographical location of Vladivostok made Tsarist Russia salivate. Since the 17th century, ** people have been hanging around here under the guise of expeditions.
As early as the Ming Dynasty, the ** people began to colonize Siberia and the Far East, and in 1636, Russia conquered the whole of Siberia. In the ninth year of Shunzhi (1652), Tsarist Russia brazenly invaded the Heilongjiang region of China and occupied Vladivostok and other large areas.
The war between the two sides continued for decades, until the 28th year of Kangxi, when the Qing army defeated the Russian invaders in the Battle of Yaksa and achieved a final victory. Qing ** and Tsarist Russia finally signed the Treaty of Nebuchu. This treaty is bounded by the Outer Khingan Mountains and the Erguna River, and officially demarcates the national boundary between China and Russia. This is the first border treaty between China and Russia, and this treaty clearly stipulates that Vladivostok is the territory of our country.
How can the ** people who have a burning desire for the land stop here. In the late Qing Dynasty, the country was closed and its national strength declined. In 1860, the British and French forces burned the Old Summer Palace and captured Beijing. Tsarist Russia took advantage of the fire to rob, coerced the Qing ** by force, and signed a treaty with the Qing ** as a mediator, and the Sino-Russian Treaty of Beijing was signed in 1860, which stipulated that it recognized the permanent cession of 400,000 square kilometers of land in the Outer Northeast to Tsarist Russia. Vladivostok, a well-known ice-free port, fell into the hands of Tsarist Russia, and our country lost an important outlet to the sea.
The world is unpredictable, the world pattern is constantly changing, and our country once almost recovered a large area of territory that was invaded and occupied by Tsarist Russia.
In 1917, the October Revolution was victorious, and the feudal dynasty of the Tsarist Empire collapsed. The socialist country of Soviet Russia was founded, the new socialist new **, the country was initially established, and the political power was unstable. In the face of the frantic counterattack of the remnants of feudalism at home and the hatred of old capitalist countries such as Britain abroad, it can be described as internal and external troubles.
The newly-born Soviet Russia faced pressure from all quarters in order to ease relations with our country. With 1919 and 1920 issued two manifestos. In a note to Beiyang**, it was decided to abolish all unequal treaties signed between Tsarist Russia and Qing ** and return all the territories occupied by Tsarist Russia during the period of Tsarist Russia.
However, at this time, the land of China was full of warlords and the people were struggling to make a living. At this time, Beiyang ** had no time to look eastward, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to recover his homeland was annihilated in the turbulent times of internal and external troubles. In the decades that followed, Sino-Soviet relations were a rollercoaster of ups and downs.
As the Soviet regime continued to consolidate, the matter of the declaration was never mentioned again. During the Stalin era, the Soviet Union not only did not have the idea of returning our territory, but also purged our Chinese through various means, and finally the overseas Chinese completely withdrew from the Vladivostok region.
In 1949, the founding of the People's Republic of China, China and the Soviet Union signed the "Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship, Alliance and Mutual Assistance" in 1950, and at this time China only recovered Dalian, Lushun and other occupied territories such as the Zhongchang Railway and Vladivostok were still controlled by the Soviet Union and could not be recovered.
There were rumors on the Internet that when the Sino-Soviet treaty was signed, there was a secret treaty, and the two countries agreed that the Soviet Union would return the Vladivostok region to China in 1995.
Now that the Soviet Union has collapsed, if there is such a secret treaty, it has now been almost 30 years and has not yet been implemented. Now the Vladivostok region is under the control of Russia, although Vladivostok was opened to China on June 1 last year, it is only used as a domestic trade port, and the sovereignty is still controlled by Russia.
The dispute over the return of Vladivostok to China in 1995 has never been confirmed by the authorities, and perhaps there was such an agreement between the leaders of the two countries at that time, or perhaps it was a good wish in the hearts of the Chinese people.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, China made it clear that it would abolish all unequal treaties and deal with territorial disputes with its neighbors through negotiation and other means.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia was worried about internal and external troubles, and Russia wanted to show goodwill to our country. During the Yeltsin period, Russia returned our country three times237 square kilometers of land. Compared with the occupied territory of our country, it is a drop in the bucket, but it is also a good start.
After many years of negotiations, in 2004, progress was made in the negotiations between China and Russia on the border issue, Russia agreed to return half of the territory of the Black Blind Island to our country, and the eastern section of the border between the two countries was formalized.
In October 2008, China and Russia held a boundary monument unveiling ceremony on Black Blind Island, marking the official return of 171 square kilometers of land and waters to China, which is equivalent to more than 40 Diaoyu Islands.
However, Vladivostok, a natural ice-free port, has not yet returned to the embrace of our country. Today, the Vladivostok region has grown into a city of more than 600,000 people and is one of the most important cities in Russia in the Far East. At the same time, it is also the seat of the command of the Russian Pacific Fleet.
Now that China and Russia are cooperating in the development of the Far East, the opening of the port of Vladivostok will become a new bright spot in the cooperation between the two sides.
The world pattern is unpredictable, with the strengthening of strategic mutual trust between China and Russia, we look forward to the near future, the two countries will solve the remaining historical problems, and our country will recover the large territory that was ceded in the future, and I believe that we will have such an opportunity in the future.
Weak countries have no diplomacy, and the material base determines the superstructure, and only China continues to improve the country's comprehensive national strength and strive to enhance its military strength. Only then can our country recover what it has lost and wash away the shame that our country has suffered in modern times. Let us work together to create a prosperous era of Chinese civilization.
