TEADIT gasket TF1590 manufacturing process and hot pressing test
Description and application.
Tealon TF1590 is filled with silica to meet a wide range of application requirements. It is suitable for general conditions, strong acids and moderately corrosive solutions.
It is consistent with FDA for food and pharmaceutical applications. The TF1590 passed the hot press test with ease and achieved excellent results.
Certification: DVGW — TA-Luft — FDA — Chlorine Institute.
Applications: Tealon TF1590 is suitable for use in high-pressure and high-temperature environments, especially in chemical processing and hydrocarbon plants in strong acids (except hydrofluoric acid), solvents, hydrocarbons, water, steam and chlorine. The gasket material has been tested to meet the standard of 21CFR1771550.
Craft. Tealon TF1590 is a kind of PTFE gasket processed by a special process, which has a high degree of fibrillation, which overcomes the creep relaxation and cold flow problems of PTFE gasket. This style is produced with virgin PTFE resin filled with silica.
Hot press test. This performance test measures the behavior of RPTFE and PTFE gaskets in a real-world environment. The diagram below shows a comparison between conventional turning PTFE and Tealon.
The gaskets we tested simulated real-world applications, including thermal cycling. The turned PTFE gasket showed a very high leak rate, with a loss of 60% of the initial pressure at the end of the test.
By the end of the test, the Tealon gasket had lost only 6% of its initial pressure and leaked 10 times less than a turned PTFE gasket.
The graph below shows the dimensional stability of the TEALON washer after testing compared to the apparent creep of the turned PTFE gasket.
