Visiting the sick elderly

In 1966, in the county hospital of Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, the first boss deliberately took time to visit a special patient. The patient's name is Shuai Shigao, from Anshun Township, Shimian County, near the Dadu River.

When Mr. Peng arrived at the hospital, Shuai Shigao was resting on the hospital bed, and Mr. Peng immediately stepped forward to hold his hand and asked with concern: "You have suffered." Shuai Shigao was a little surprised, and he asked, "May I ask which chief are you?"

How do I know my name? The people around were also puzzled, why did the old man in front of him not see Mr. Peng, but Mr. Peng would come to visit him? What is their relationship like?

What's the story behind all this? Let's unravel this mystery together. Don't forget to like and follow!

The Red Army's Long March, not afraid of hardships and difficulties, faced dangers and obstacles, and marched forward bravely! An erroneous decision caused the Red Army to suffer heavy losses in the fifth anti-encirclement campaign and lose a large number of base areas.

But the beginning of the Long March marked the beginning of a new era. On the road of revolution, we are faced with all kinds of difficulties and challenges, but only by having firm conviction and forging ahead courageously can we march toward victory.

One of the most dangerous events of the Long March was the forced crossing of the Dadu River. In the process, we encountered unimaginable difficulties, but in the end we managed to cross the Dadu River.

This is the spirit of the Long March, not afraid of hardship, not afraid of difficulties, and moving forward bravely!

In the face of the encirclement of the Hunan army, Shi Dakai still failed to cross the Dadu River at the cost of "sacrificing" his five wives and concubines. In the end, under the lure of the Qing army, he chose to give up resistance, and as a result, tens of thousands of his soldiers were ** by the Qing army by the Dadu River.

However, on May 24, 1935, after the Long March, our army led the Red First Regiment to march more than 70 kilometers in just one day and night, and successfully arrived at the Anshun Ferry, which was the place where Shi Dakai died.

Chiang Kai-shek had anticipated the actions of our army, so he ordered all the houses and ships on the south bank to be burned and forcibly relocated most of the inhabitants in an attempt to trap our army.

Under Chiang Kai-shek's strict order, the south bank of the Dadu River became deserted, and there was no one to be seen hundreds of miles away, and the villages were almost empty. There were no ships, no supplies, there was an interception in front and a pursuer in the rear, and our army was in a desperate situation in an instant.

Looking at the turbulent Dadu River, Mr. Peng, who came later, also felt very anxious, both sides of the bank are full of steep mountains, and the difficulty of crossing the Dadu River is much higher than crossing the Jinsha River, not to mention erecting a pontoon bridge, and even a wooden stake cannot be fixed in the river.

The Red Army is facing a critical moment of life and death, what is the way out? Taking a detour? That would inevitably encounter Chiang Kai-shek's heavy troops, and a hard fight would only cause the Red Army to suffer huge losses.

Faced with this critical situation, the chairman decided to force the whole army across the Dadu River to open the way for the main forces of the Red Army to cross the river. As soon as the Red Regiment received the order, it went into action, and the search for ships and boatmen became the first priority.

Luckily, they found the only ship that could have been left on the south shore, Lai's ship. Lai Zhizhong was a subordinate of the Kuomintang Deng Xiuting, and his order was to burn down all the houses on the south bank and remove all the ships and boatmen.

However, Lai found that he was unable to carry out this order because he himself was the owner of most of the properties on the South Bank, and he used his power to carry out ** and forced buys and sells.

Therefore, the Red Army decided to use Lai Zhizhong's boats to forcibly cross the Dadu River to open the way for the main forces of the Red Army to cross the river.

He wanted to burn down his property, but he burned down the houses of the common people and removed most of the ships and boatmen, leaving only one to transport his property in case of emergency.

However, he did not expect our army to march so fast, and in one night they conquered his lair and captured him. As a result, the ship became a trophy of our army, and it is still on display in the local military museum.

Due to the swiftness of our army's movements, Lai Zhizhong failed to give a signal, so the defenders on the north bank of the Kuomintang knew nothing about it, which gave us the opportunity to force our way across the Dadu River. But a new problem arose, and that was the lack of skilled shipwrights.

The Dadu River is turbulent, and it is extremely difficult to navigate the boats without someone familiar with the waterways. However, this problem was quickly resolved. Our army learned about a "boat king" named Shuai Shigao, who was familiar with the channel of the Dadu River and was a celebrity here.

This is where our story begins.

Shuai Shigao, a native of Anshun, has a family that has been supporting boats for generations. Since he was a child, he followed his father to set up a boat on the Dadu River and accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the river. His boating skills are proficient, whether it is strong winds and waves or rapids and rapids, he can easily control it, so he has won the reputation of "the king of boats".

When our troops learned of his deeds, they began to look for his traces. When the Kuomintang moved ships to drive away the people, Shuai Shigao wittily took his family to hide. Although it was not easy for him to evade the Kuomintang army in the Dadu River, he still stayed on the south bank.

With the help of fellow villagers, our army found a place where Shuai Shigao was hiding. However, when Shuai Shigao saw someone from the army coming, he hid again and resolutely did not show his face.

It turned out that he believed that these people were Kuomintang troops, so he hated them and was unwilling to have any contact with them. In desperation, our army decided to wait as a way to demonstrate their sincerity.

After a while, Shuai Shigao heard that there was no movement outside, and thought that everyone had left. So, he opened the door to check, but was surprised to find that our army was still waiting for him.

The core idea of the new copywriting is: Shuai Shigao won the title of "King of Boats" for his superb boat support skills, he resolutely supported our army, and refused to contact the Kuomintang army.

When Shuai Shigao found that the people in front of him were not the Kuomintang troops he was familiar with, but a group of our troops wearing shabby clothes and sallow faces, but full of energy, his heart was full of curiosity.

He was moved by the patient persuasion and sincerity of our army, and in the end he decided to help our army cross the river. On the way to Anshun Field, our army prepared a sumptuous meal for him, and he ate it with relish, as if it were the most important meal of his life.

At Anshun Field, eighteen warriors formed a vanguard team, and they would take the ship of Shuai Shigao and attack the north shore. At about 9 o'clock in the morning on May 25, the river crossing operation began.

At first, the enemy forces on the other side of the river were less vigilant because they did not know that the southern bank was occupied by our troops. However, when Shuai Shigao's boat reached the river**, they realized that there were people on the river!

As a result, the enemy immediately launched a counterattack on our troops.

The sound of gunfire was deafening, and the hull of the ship was crumbling by the impact of the waves stirred up by the cannonballs, but the ship's king Shuai Shigao responded calmly, stabilized the hull with one move, and sailed towards the north shore without hesitation.

Seeing this, the enemy frantically called in cannons to block the attack, Shuai Shigao leaned over to control, resolutely forward, and suddenly saw the reef ahead, he immediately took measures and prepared to make a detour. But an accident happened, a cannonball hit the hull, and the hull shook violently, and it was about to hit the rocks.

Shuai Shigao did not hesitate, jumped into the Dadu River, pushed the boat hard, and other boatmen on the boat also jumped down to help push the boat. After a difficult effort, the ship finally reached the north shore, and a vanguard of eighteen warriors launched a fierce attack.

With machine-gun fire and grenade cover, after half an hour of fierce fighting, they managed to defeat the defenders of the river section and occupy a small area of the forward base. Seeing that our army had successfully gained a foothold, Shuai Shigao and others immediately began to transport our army across the river.

With the help of Shuai Shigao and others, our army successfully forcibly crossed the river in the middle of the night, expanded the forward base, and transported a total of more than 7,000 people! Mr. Peng was very happy, held Shuai Shigao's hand tightly, thanked him for his help, and gave him eight yuan, which was also the first meeting between the two sides.

After that, our army continued to advance, and Shuai Shigao and others originally planned to go home, but the Kuomintang army, unable to defeat the Red Army, vented its anger on those who helped our army cross the river.

Shuai Shigao escaped with the help of his fellow villagers, and although they managed to escape, their family was captured by the Kuomintang army, and Shuai Shigao's father died tragically after being tortured, and the father and son were never seen again.

After Shuai Shigao fled, he kept on the run, and eventually he came to Daliang Mountain, which was originally a living area of the Yi people, but due to the occupation of a group of bandits, it became unstable.

These bandits kidnapped a large number of people, including Shuai Shigao. In order to survive, Shuai Shigao was forced to become a slave to the bandits.

Shuai Shigao's life is full of hardships and hardships, with daily busyness to survive, poor food, and poor accommodation. However, even in these conditions, he did not give up hope of life.

He was convinced that the Red Army would always fight back, and his belief was finally realized. In 1952, the People's Liberation Army successfully rescued Shuai Shigao, and Lu Ruilin was very surprised when he learned the news.

Because Mr. Peng has been looking for this person who helped the Red Army in the Dadu River.

When Shuai Shigao appeared, Lu Ruilin immediately reported to **, and soon ** made clear instructions, asking Shuai Shigao to be treated with the highest treatment, and at the same time, Shuai Shigao was also sent to the hospital for ** his eye disease.

But it's a pity that despite a long time, Shuai Shigao's sick eye still hasn't. Later, the local ** arranged for Shuai Shigao to return to his hometown of Anshun Field in Shimian County, and gave him three houses, let him get married, have children, and re-establish his own family.

In 1955, Mr. Peng never forgot Shuai Shigao and invited him to Beijing to participate in the 20th anniversary celebration of the Red Army's forced crossing of the Dadu River, but during this trip to Beijing, the boss was busy with work and the two could not meet.

It wasn't until ten years later that Mr. Peng inspected Panzhihua Iron and Steel Factory, and in his busy schedule, he took time out to visit Shuai Shigao in Shimian County Hospital, and the two finally met there.

After being discharged from the hospital, the two made a private appointment to meet at the guest house. Thirty years have passed since the forced crossing of the Dadu River, and the scene at that time is still vivid. The two chatted from Dadu River to New China, and unconsciously, their eyes were moist.

Shuai Shigao, an ordinary man who was born and died by the Dadu River, is not a soldier, but he interprets the definition of a hero in a unique way. In his drawer, he treasured the 30 yuan and 3 packs of unopened front door cigarettes that *** gave him, as if it was a testimony of those years.

Although his eye was never healed, his eyes were always firm and sincere. The course of his life is like a big river, flowing quietly and deeply imprinted in the memory of time.

Although he did not personally experience the Long March, his spirit will forever be remembered in the Red Army's Long March merits.
