With the official release of Apple's Vision Pro in the United States, Apple has also officially released its support documents, one of which shows that Vision Pro can directly view and control Mac computers.

Apple says that the Vision Pro's Mac Virtual Display feature is compatible with any Mac running macOS Sonoma, and that the Vision Pro can display 4K resolution if the Mac is powered by Apple's own chips.

If you're powered by an Intel processor, the resolution will be limited to 3k.

It is understood that macOS Sonoma is compatible with the following Mac computers:

MacBook Pro: 2018 and later.

MacBook Air: 2018 and later.

Mac mini: 2018 and later.

iMac: 2019 and later.

imac pro: 2017

Mac Studio: 2022 and later.

Mac Pro: 2019 and later.

The oldest of these, the iMac Pro, was released in June 2017, almost seven years ago.

To use this feature, Vision Pro and Mac need to be signed in to the same Apple ID, two-factor authentication must be turned on for that account, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be enabled on both devices to establish a connection.

Users can also use the Mac's keyboard and trackpad to control Vision Pro apps, but Vision Pro cannot be connected directly to a Bluetooth mouse.

However, it is important to note that the Mac Virtual Display feature will not work properly when the Vision Pro is in guest mode.
