The US Navy's guided-missile destroyer USS Finn crossed the Taiwan Strait of our country without authorization on the 24th, which was an act of provocation and threat. Its purpose is to embolden the U.S. congressional delegation that arrived in Taiwan on the same day, and at the same time, it is also to demonstrate to our country the presence of U.S. naval and air forces in China's periphery and to try to put pressure on our country.
However, this kind of behavior did not achieve the desired effect of the United States, but instead caused a strong reaction and warning from our country. As can be seen from the footage reported by **, the American warship did not observe the principle of innocent passage when passing through the strait, but was in a state of combat readiness, and the ship's guns and secondary guns were aimed in the direction of the mainland, which was an extremely dangerous and provocative gesture.
China expresses its solemn opinion on this, and makes it clear that if necessary, the PLA will take practical actions to defend the security and sovereignty of the motherland and build a great wall of steel. China also pointed out that US interference in the Taiwan Strait issue and violation of some consensus and statements between China and the United States are unacceptable and are the root cause of undermining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
So why did the United States let its warships pass through our Taiwan Strait so arrogantly? In addition to supporting the U.S. congressional delegation, there are three reasons.
First, it is a kind of domineering psychology. The United States wants to exert external pressure on our country through such a voyage, and at the same time wants to show other countries that only the ** of the Americans dares to do this. The United States has seized on the status quo that there are still international shipping lanes in the Taiwan Strait, and let the ** show off its military might there, giving people the illusion that the United States is still the most powerful power in the region.
Second, it is a desire to control. The United States does not want the situation in China's neighborhood to develop in accordance with its strategic vision. China is already the most powerful country in the region, and by sailing like this, U.S. warships want to maintain their military presence in the region and maintain a deterrent effect against China. This is a comfort and encouragement for some people in Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and even Taiwan to remain dependent on the United States.
Third, it is a means of temptation. Judging from the actual situation in the United States in China's immediate vicinity, the United States has begun to mobilize its superior naval and air forces to approach China. Most strikingly, three US nuclear-powered aircraft carriers have appeared in our periphery, namely the USS Reagan, the USS Carl Vinson, and the USS Roosevelt, which are hovering on the side of the western Pacific Ocean close to our country. The United States is concentrating three aircraft carriers in the same sea area at once, probably in order to prepare some strategic moves against our country. Against such a background, the USS Finn missile destroyer's passage through the Taiwan Strait was aimed at testing China's reaction and bottom line, as well as to collect some intelligence and information.
Judging from the actual actions of our military, we have not been intimidated or swayed by this behavior of the United States. On the day of the 24th, our theater of operations has made it clear that our military will maintain full monitoring and tracking of the entire process of the US warship's crossing of the Taiwan Strait, and on the same day, according to the information released by Taiwan, at least 5 warships and 12 warplanes of the PLA are still maintaining high-density patrols and activities in the strait.
Therefore, we can see very clearly that the current situation in the strait has been firmly controlled by the PLA. In the face of such a situation, some small actions of the US warship cannot affect the development of the overall situation. And the idea that the United States wants to use a missile destroyer to deter our country, or even external pressure, is also in vain.
And if the situation reaches an extreme situation, such a warship is already so close to China, in the face of China's navy and air force, and even rockets on land, there is actually no possibility of survival.
