Well Demon
During the Tang Tianbao period, a scholar surnamed Zhen in Jinling went to Luoyang to study. He rented a large house with a well in the yard, very deep. Others told him that the well had drowned many times, and Zhen Sheng thought that he would live alone without children by his side, so he didn't have to worry.
He lived here for more than a month, studying behind closed doors and rarely going out. There was a teenage girl next door who often came to fetch water, and he didn't care. On this day, the girl came to fetch water again, but she stood by the well, and her body gradually leaned into the well. Zhen Sheng saw through the window, and was about to shout a reminder, but the girl had fallen into the well and sank to the bottom of the water. When everyone heard the noise, they rushed to the next day, and they were salvaged the next day, and their faces were pale and they were already dead.
Zhen Sheng recalled the scene when the girl fell into the water, and was suspicious, and he also went to the wellhead to peep in his spare time that day. Suddenly, a woman was reflected in the water, her face was bewitching, her pulse was staring at Zhen Sheng, and she was smiling with her sleeve covering her mouth.
Zhen Sheng was in a trance for a while, and almost fell. He forced himself to retract his mind and retreated from the woman's gaze. After sobering up, he sighed: "It turned out to be a demon in the water, so dangerous!" He never went to the well again, and warned others not to come near.
There was a severe drought in the following months, but the water in the wells did not decrease, and one day it suddenly dried up. That night, someone knocked on the door, Zhen Sheng opened the door, and couldn't help but be surprised, it turned out that it was the woman he saw in the well, dressed in contemporary clothes, more charming than when he was in the well.
Zhen Sheng tried to calm down and asked, "Why did you lure people into the water?" The woman said, "I had no choice but to do so, this well was dug by Zhou Bo, the Marquis of Han Jiang, and was later occupied by a poisonous dragon." Poisonous dragons love to suck human blood, and from the Han Dynasty to the present dynasty, more than 3,000 people have been killed. I fell into the well in the early years of this dynasty, and was coerced by the poisonous dragon to fight for the tiger. ”
Zhen Sheng said: "The poisonous dragon is raging, and the gods are miserable, does the heavens care?" The woman said, "This dragon is cunning and bribes the dragon attendants who serve the Taiyi Divine Monarch, so he has deceived Tiancao and escaped punishment." Now that there is a great drought, the poisonous dragon has also been summoned by the Taiyi God to the south to rain, so I have temporarily escaped the poisonous hands. I hope that the gentleman will take advantage of the dry water to dig the well and save me from fire and water. "I don't see you when I'm done.
Zhen Sheng found craftsmen to dig the well and told them to bring something unusual when they saw it. The craftsman followed the rope into the well, and saw nothing but white bones. After several searches, he found an ancient mirror and brought it to Zhen Sheng. Zhen Sheng burned incense and worshipped and put the ancient mirror into the box.
During the second watch, the woman suddenly appeared, first expressing her gratitude to Zhen Sheng, and then explaining: "I am one of the twelve bronze mirrors cast by Shi Kuang (Qin Dynasty musician). During the Zhenguan period, it was owned by Xu Jingzong, and later was dropped into the water by the maidservant, and the water was too deep to take out, so he was enslaved by the poisonous dragon. Please pack your belongings and move out of this house immediately. Zhen Sheng said: "I have no money left to rent another house." The woman said, "Don't worry about this, just pack your bags quickly." ”
Early the next morning, someone in the middle of the house knocked on the door and asked to see him, taking Zhen Sheng to another house. Zhen Sheng asked who paid the rent, but the middleman did not answer, and left after handing over the lease contract. A few days later, the original house collapsed and the well was buried under the rubble.
Since then, Zhen Sheng has always carried this mirror with him, and he can always be in trouble, and finally became an official of the imperial court. The mirror is seven inches and seven minutes wide, and the inscription on it shows that the name is "Yize", and it has been cast for more than 1,000 years.
The story is from "Bo Yi Zhi", which is reminiscent of Sadako in "Midnight Bell".
Flying Snake
There is a stone bridge in a certain town, which is a passage for residents to enter and exit. In this year, everyone who crossed the bridge was sick with swelling, and the infirm died at every turn. At first, people didn't know what the reason was, but later they concluded that it was the stone bridge, so they all took a long detour, and the residents next to the bridge also moved quickly.
After more than ten years, no one dared to approach the stone bridge, and watched from afar, and when they saw birds and animals passing by this bridge, they would also fall into the water and die. I don't know how many strangers are sick or die.
One day a beggar who caught snakes came here, and when he came to the bridge, he stopped and took a detour into the town, and asked the residents, "Is it true that everyone who crosses this bridge will be sick?" People scrambled to tell him the details.
The beggar said, "This is a poisonous snake, which is not too long, and has wings, and is capable of flying, and is extremely venomous, and whoever smells its poisonous gas will be sick or dead." And the more years go by, the more toxic it becomes, and in a few years, the whole village will suffer. The villagers asked for advice on how to catch snakes, and the beggar said, "Only the giant yellow eel snake can restrain it, and it cannot be caught by manpower alone." ”
The villagers begged him to get rid of the snake and promised to thank him with a lot of money, but the beggar said that he would give him some coils and go to Sichuan to find the yellow eel snake. People are afraid that he will cheat the money and will not return, so they hesitate. The beggar said, "Although I am poor, I know what righteousness is, and I risk my life by catching flying snakes, not for money, but for the sake of life." If you don't believe me, there's no way around it. A squire gave a few dozen taels of silver, and the beggar made an appointment for a month and walked away.
By the appointed date, the beggar did not return. Everyone suspected that he was a **, and the squire was silent. After another month, the beggar came back and explained: "I haven't found the yellow eel snake for a long time, and the occasional one is too mediocre, and it is not the opponent of the flying snake." After all the hardships, I finally found the right person in a barren mountain. He patted the leather pocket on his shoulder.
He asked the villagers to find 100 dry tobacco pouch rods, collected the e-liquid in them, and smeared them all over their bodies, hands and feet. He also cut two long bamboo poles, tied them with string in the shape of pliers, and coated them with e-liquid. He put on a thick jacket and pants, covered with cotton cloth, and only his eyes were exposed.
The villagers watched from afar, and the beggar took the yellow eel snake around his shoulder and neck, and came to the stone bridge alone. As soon as he stood still, a small snake flew out from under the bridge, and the yellow eel snake swam to the ground and fought with it, but was bitten by the flying snake in the neck and fell to the ground. The beggar waved his bamboo pole to help in the battle, and the little snake flew towards him again.
The beggar fled in fright, and the injured yellow eel snake suddenly straightened up, and flew the snake from the back bite, and the two snakes fell to the ground and rolled together. The beggar retreated into the distance, and the two snakes fought. After a long time, I saw the yellow eel snake meandering and knew that it was done. So he lit the herbs to drive away the poisonous gas, approached with a clay pot, and used bamboo tongs to load the corpse of the flying snake into the jar and bury it in a deep pit.
And so it was, and the beggar was still poisoned by it, and his whole body was swollen. He took herbs and recovered a few days later. The villagers raised a huge amount of money to thank each other, and the beggars collected the money and left, and the stone bridge has since become a broad road. "Barnyard Banknotes".
