Japan METI filing refers to the procedure in which products exported to Japan need to be filed with a local trading company in Japan according to the regulations of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. The purpose of this filing is to ensure that the products comply with the safety standards and regulatory requirements of Japan to protect the safety and rights of consumers. METI filing is a necessary step for importing into the Japanese market, providing assurance for product compliance.

The process of METI filing is as follows:

1.Submit complete information, including PSE certificate and report, English or Japanese manual, specification, warranty statement, application form (to be filled in according to PSE certificate), product**, Japanese importer's business license, etc.

2.Japanese importers submit documents to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

3.Reviewed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and recorded.

4.Issue the original filing letter + electronic file.

The review cycle of METI filing is generally 5-7 working days, if the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Japan's ** department) can issue it in time, the fastest 3 working days can expedite the review and issuance of the certificate, and the certificate will be sent to the customer as soon as possible. However, the above cycle needs to be based on the premise of complete data preparation.

Please note that the applicant must be a local registered ** company in Japan. For cross-border e-commerce companies that want to sell live products on Amazon in Japan, they must hold a PSE certificate + METI filing, otherwise they will face the risk of being taken off the shelves.
