The intelligent computing cabin is integrated in the form of a container, and the power distribution facilities, computing power servers, dynamic environment monitoring and other equipment are integrated in the box to form a standardized computing power unit that is easy to expand and move. At the end of last year, the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Data Bureau, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on the In-depth Implementation of the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" Project and Accelerating the Construction of a National Integrated Computing Network", proposing that by the end of 2025, a two-way coordination mechanism for computing power and electricity will be initially formed, and the proportion of green electricity in new data centers in national hub nodes will exceed 80%.
Let "green electricity" become "computing power", this implementation opinion draws a "roadmap" for the energy supply and electricity consumption of data centers. In Ganzi Prefecture, the practice has already been carried out.
Recently, in Zheluogou, Kongyu Township, Kangding City, a container equipped with power distribution facilities, computing power servers, dynamic environment monitoring and other equipment landed, which is the province's first distributed intelligent computing project with green electricity as energy and container form as the carrier. What will these "computing power containers" bring to Ganzi?
One benefit. Electricity is consumed on site, and resources become assets.
Different from the scene of high-rise buildings in the general "intelligent computing center", the green intelligent computing cabin project looks much "mini", a white "container", a set of power distribution facilities, and several hosts, almost all of it.
Small in size, but big in significance. According to the requirements of the national integrated data center construction of "Eastern Data and Western Computing", the average power usage efficiency (PUE value) of the eastern data center cluster should be less than 125, and less than 1 in the west2。"The lower the value, the more efficient the energy use. Ma Tao, director of carbon neutrality at China Telecom Sichuan Company, told reporters, "Theoretically, the PUE of our intelligent computing cabin can reach 1."Under 15. ”
The "secret" of efficient energy use lies in the "container" form of the intelligent computing cabin. "The terrain of Ganzi Prefecture is mostly high mountains and valleys, and the 'container' form can allow the intelligent computing cabin to be built according to the distribution of power stations, obtain electricity nearby, and reduce power transmission losses. Ma Tao said that containers also have the advantage of "easy expansion", which can be continuously upgraded and iterated in combination with local conditions, and improve infrastructure such as liquid-cooled computing cabins and network resources.
In addition to serving the national strategic deployment, the operation of the intelligent computing cabin is also of great significance to Ganzi Prefecture. As of last year, the state's installed clean energy capacity was 18.15 million kilowatts, and 14.56 million kilowatts were under construction, but some power resources could not be effectively utilized due to factors such as power transmission facilities and local industrial base.
The green intelligent computing cabin project can consume electricity on the spot, convert the curtailment of water and electricity into the economic income of the power station, and do not pollute local resources. The relevant person in charge of the Ganzi Prefecture Economic and Information Technology Bureau introduced. Taking the project put into operation as an example, it can consume 700,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity at full load throughout the year, which will bring about 200,000 yuan of direct electricity income to the power station, and will also bring benefits such as land rent and employment to the local area.
Double benefit. Make efforts to "computing power economy", and energy has become an advantage.
It is not only in line with the national strategic planning, but also can effectively use local resources, and is also in line with the positioning of the "Northwest Sichuan Ecological Demonstration Zone", this small "computing power container" has opened up a new idea for Ganzi to develop "computing power economy".
According to the "Digital Ganzi Master Plan (2023-2025)", Ganzi should take the hydropower consumption industrial zone as a breakthrough in the state's digital economy, accelerate the development of the big data industry, and focus on building a cloud computing center in the Ganzi Prefecture Hydropower Consumption Demonstration Zone with the centralized and distributed development strategy of "one core and multiple points".
Ganzi Prefecture proposed to seize the opportunity of the national "Eastern Data and Western Computing" project and the construction of a data disaster recovery center in the western region, and vigorously develop the digital industry around building a non-real-time computing power guarantee base for the whole country and covering Tibet-related areas.
At present, two projects, the hydropower consumption industry demonstration park and the Derong Internet big data center, which are dominated by big data, are being promoted. The relevant person in charge of the Ganzi Prefecture Economic and Information Technology Bureau said that Ganzi Prefecture will focus on promoting the "computing economy" to practice, "not only to find a way out for green electricity consumption, but also to help optimize the industrial structure of Ganzi Prefecture, and we will also strengthen the guarantee of land, capital, manpower and other factors." ”
In the view of Shen Yimin, executive director of Sichuan Industrial Big Data Application Research Institute and professor of Chengdu Institute of Technology, in order to develop the "computing economy", it is also necessary to combine with market demand, "The demand for data infrastructure will provide huge development space for clean energy in Ganzi and other places." As long as the application scenarios and regional positioning are identified, and the supporting data can play a multiplier effect in different scenarios, infrastructure can be truly integrated into the market and its economic and social value can be exerted. ”
