As we all know, there are four beauties in China, namely the sinking fish and the wild goose, and the shy flower in the closed moon. So who are they? What are the different fates of each one?
Today, let's talk about the four beauties in Chinese history.
The first thing to talk about is the sinking fish, that is, Shih Tzu.
So, why does Shih Tzu have the name of sinking fish?
According to legend, when Xi Shi was in the west of the Huansha, the fish in the water saw the reflection of Xi Shi left in the water, and found that Xi Shi looked so beautiful, and the fish in the water sank to the bottom of the water and did not dare to come out. As a result, Xi Shi has the name of sinking fish.
Xi Shi, surnamed Shi Yiguang, is the first Shi, also known as Xizi. Grew up in Zhuji Lai Luo Village, Zhejiang Province (now Huansha Village, Chengnan City, Zhuji City), and was a beautiful woman in the late Spring and Autumn Period of China.
Xi Shi was born in poverty, often raccoon yarn in the stream, born with a beautiful appearance, charming and outstanding. After the defeat of the Yue State, he was forced to sue for peace with the Wu State. Yue Wang Goujian selected domestic beauties to dedicate to Wu Wangfucha, and Xi Shi, who was born beautiful, was also one of them. Fucha loved Xi Shi in every way, first built the Spring Festival Palace in Gusu, and then built a pavilion and a spirit hall for Xi Shi to perform singing, dancing and feasts. Because Xi Shi is good at dancing the "clog dance", the husband specially built a "clog gallery" for him. At the same time, the king of Yue, Goujian, made the Yue State strong and prosperous, and finally defeated the Wu State.
There are different legends about the ending of Xi Shi, some people say that when the Wu State fell, Xi Shi was sunk into the sea, and some people say that after the fall of the Wu State, Xi Shi followed the Shang Sheng Fan Li to live in seclusion, and he started and finished. As a human being, I personally prefer the second ending.
Next, the beauty we are going to talk about is named Wang Zhaojun.
Legend has it that during the Western Han Dynasty, there was a beautiful woman named Wang Zhaojun, who entered the court as a palace maid in the royal draft again. After entering the palace, because she refused to bribe the painter, she failed to get the emperor's favor.
Once, the leader of the Southern Xiongnu, a vassal state of the Han Dynasty, called Han Xie to come to Chang'an to make a pilgrimage to the Son of Heaven, in order to fulfill the courtesy of the vassals, and invited himself as a son-in-law. Emperor Yuan then gave the palace maid Zhaojun to Huhan Evil Shan Yu, and changed the Yuan to Jingning. Shan Yu wrote to express his willingness to keep the border forever.
And Wang Zhaojun was on the way out of the fortress to the Southern Xiongnu, and the geese flying south saw her prosperous face, and they all fell to rest, and waited until Wang Zhaojun passed before taking off and leaving.
After Wang Zhaojun arrived in the Xiongnu, he was known as Ning Hu 阏氏 (yān zhī). Zhaojun and Huhan Yeshan lived together for three years, gave birth to a son, named Yitu Zhiyanshi, and was named the king of the right day. Wang Zhaojun also died a good death.
These are the two beauties who can die well in the end among the four beauties in China. In the next chapter, we will continue to talk about the other two beauties, and what fate awaits them?
