Curator Song Zhenxi was rushed to Elizabeth Hospital 1, Sabah at 14:10 pm on February 5, 2024 due to cardiac arrest during his trip to Sabah, Malaysia, and passed away at 15:32 at the age of 39.

Song Zhenxi, formerly known as Zhang Songzhen, was born in Wuhan in 1985. He is an independent curator and a scholar of art criticism. In 2008, he received a bachelor's degree in art history from the China Academy of Art. In 2012, he received a master's degree from the Institute of Contemporary Art and Social Thought of the China Academy of Art. In 2022, he received a doctorate degree in contemporary art theory and practice from the China Academy of Art. He is a researcher at the Exhibition Culture Research Center of the China Academy of Art; Director of the Curatorial Department of the ** Urban R&D Center of the China Academy of Art; Founder of the Bureau of Contemporary Art Survey (ABI).
