There are terrace tea, small tree tea (medium tree tea), ancient tree tea (big tree tea), single plant, etc., and today we will talk about the difference between them in detail.
1. Terrace tea.
It refers to the tea varieties produced by those modern tea plantations that use modern tea planting technology and newly planted dense planting and high yield. This kind of tea has been in relatively good management after artificial cultivation, such as pruning, fertilization, spraying and other measures are the basic measures in the management process of terrace tea. Therefore, mesa tea can also be said to be artificially cultivated tea.
Most of the cuttings are 60-90cm tall and about 2000-3000 plants per mu. Due to the application of chemical fertilizers and dense planting, the production of sun-dried green tea has a large yield, a fast growth cycle, strong bitterness and astringency, and the bitter and astringent taste does not fade in the mouth for a long time, which is very different from the taste of ancient tree tea.
Second, small tree tea.
In the ancient tea area of Yunnan, some tea trees were planted intermittently in the later period. They are characterized by seed cultivation, scattered sloping land, high altitude, and trees less than 100 years old. The difference between this kind of tea tree and big tree tea is only in the age of the tree, so the people of the tea mountain are used to calling it "small tree tea", and the older tree in the small tree tea is called "medium tree tea".
When these medium-tree teas grow to 100 years old, they are the "ancient tree teas" of the future.
Most of the plants are 80-120cm tall and have about 1500-2000 trees per mu. The dried green tea is not very thick, the bitterness stays in the mouth for a long time, and the harmony of the taste is better than that of terrace tea, which is worse than that of ancient tree tea.
The tea strips of the small tree are thin, covered with white hair, the gloss is good, the taste is relatively rich, the charm is relatively rich, and the aroma is high.
3. Ancient tree tea.
How old is a tree old? Article 3 of China's Measures for the Protection and Management of Ancient and Famous Trees in Cities states that "the term "ancient trees" in these measures refers to trees that are more than 100 years old. "Nature refers to tea plantations with many century-old trees.
Yunnan is the only place in the world with contiguous ancient tea plantations, and the total area of existing ancient tea tree resources is about 329680,000 acres, the distribution area of wild ancient tree tea population is about 265750,000 acres, the distribution area of cultivated ancient tea trees (gardens) is about 63930,000 acres. Among them, the distribution area of ancient tea tree resources in Pu'er City is the largest, about 136100,000 acres, accounting for 41 of the total distribution area of ancient tea trees in the province28%;The second is the distribution area of Lincang ancient tea tree resources of about 65220,000 acres, Xishuangbanna is about 25350,000 acres. In addition, Honghe Prefecture and Wenshan Prefecture also have a large number of ancient tree tea resources.
Single-plant tea. The single tree is the older ancient tea tree in the tea tree. The age of the tree is more than three or four hundred years, most of the DBH is 10-35cm, the chest circumference is 35-110cm, the height of the tree is 3-6m, because the surface plants have not been removed, so the tea garden ecology is good, although the tree is very old, but the tea tree has no signs of aging. The prepared sun-dried green tea, the buds and leaves are stout, most of the leaf veins are between 9 and 16 pairs, the pectin is rich, the taste is sweet, slightly bitter and slightly astringent, and the bitterness stays in the mouth for a short time, about a few seconds.
