In view of the outstanding problems of fishery-related violations and crimes, the public security organs along the Yangtze River and Changhang in conjunction with the agricultural and rural departments have adhered to the problem-oriented and result-oriented, and continued to increase the intensity of crackdown and rectification. In order to crack down on gang-based and chain-based cases, the Ministry of Public Security has successively listed and supervised 28 key cases. From August to September, the Ministry of Public Security organized a regional campaign to crack down on illegal fishing in Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi and Anhui, launching a fierce offensive against the prominent problem of regional illegal fishing, and the number of fishing-related criminal cases in key areas dropped significantly. At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs deployed Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang to carry out a two-month special law enforcement action on the illegal fishing and sales of the Yangtze swordfish, cracking 81 fishing-related cases, and resolutely eradicating the underground chain of illegal fishing, acquisition, processing, and sales of precious and endangered aquatic wildlife such as the Yangtze swordfish.

In response to the crime of illegal sand mining in the Yangtze River, the public security organs have paid close attention to the six links of "reform, mining, transportation, barge, sales and use", and paid close attention to the six elements of "people, ships, sand, certificates, accounts and cases", and continued to carry out strong crackdowns. In 2023, a total of 232 criminal cases of illegal sand mining in the Yangtze River will be detected, and 110 illegal and criminal gangs will be eliminated, involving an amount of 2500 million yuan. Through the continuous efforts of the public security organs in many places, a number of major cases of organized crime in many places have been successfully cracked, forming a strong deterrent to sand-related crimes.

During the summer public security crackdown and rectification action, the public security organs combined with the summer night public security patrol and publicity and unified action, set up 46 water inspection points in key waters, and inspected 1 shipMore than 40,000 ships have been carried out, and more than 2,000 key waters have been remediated to squeeze the space for violations and crimes to the greatest extent.

The "Safe Yangtze River 2024" special action to crack down on outstanding violations and crimes in the waters of the Yangtze River has begun, and the public security organs will further deepen the linkage and cooperation with relevant departments, adhere to the simultaneous crackdown and prevention, comprehensive rectification, increase joint law enforcement in key waters, effectively improve the comprehensive efficiency of crackdown, prevention, control and construction, and strive to ensure the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt with high-level security services.
