The 2024 Guangzhou-Hong Kong Youth Football Exchange Activity is hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Guangzhou Football Association and the Guangzhou Youth Federation. The event set up football exchange matches, fun sports competitions, football celebrity reviews and on-site teaching guidance, and 30 teenagers from Hong Kong and Guangzhou participated in the competition, divided into the Hong Kong Bauhinia team and the Guangzhou Kapok team. On the occasion of the opening of the 42nd Provincial Hong Kong Cup Football Tournament and the advent of the New Year of the Dragon, the young people of the two places have formed a deep friendship.

Zhang Yu, the leading teacher of Guangzhou Peizheng Middle School, said that Bauhinia and Kapok are the "city flowers" of Hong Kong and Guangzhou respectively, and this time they named the team after the Bauhinia team and the Kapok team respectively, which is very meaningful, and hopes that students from Guangzhou and Hong Kong can use football as a medium to communicate with each other frequently.
