The monkeys revered him as the "Monkey King" because of his successful breakthrough into the Water Curtain Cave. 
After a lot of hardships, he worshiped under the patriarch of Subodhi, and learned superb spells such as seventy-two changes, somersault clouds, and immortality, and was named Sun Wukong. He was born in a fairy stone on Huaguo Mountain, born from heaven and earth, without parents, without a name and surname. The ancestor took a surname "Qian" from the monkey king, and went to the beast to be an ancient month, which means that the old yin can not be cultivated, so he taught him the surname "Tan", and went to the beast to be a subline, which is in line with the original meaning of the baby. His name is based on the twelve characters in the patriarch's door - the vast wisdom is really like the nature of Hai Ying Wu Yuanjue, and the turn of the monkey king is the "enlightenment" generation, so the ancestor named him "Sun Wukong". 
Wukong realizes the nature of the vacuum, and he must walk in this emptiness in order to achieve the realm of gold and water. So he was known as the "Walker" and also known as the "Monkey King". The story of this legendary hero has been perfectly presented in the four famous Chinese novels "Journey to the West", and has become a myth and legend in the hearts of generations of people.
