Wang Yi s first visit to Europe in the new year will confront the difficulties that Britain has plan

Time flies, and the annual Munich Security Conference is being held again. This is an extremely important international security event, and this time, our chief Wang Yi will be under tremendous pressure to attend.

Last year, Wang Yi's eloquent speech at the conference left a deep impression and won widespread praise. However, there are two reasons why this time it has been described as "going under heavy pressure":

First, the absence of Russia and Iran at this meeting sends a clear signal: it could once again become a fully dominated anti-Russia and Iranian congress by the United States and Western countries.

They will inevitably push us to take a stand on issues such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Red Sea crisis, and may even induce us to make unfavorable remarks against Russia and Iran, which will pose a severe test of Wang Yi's ability.

Second, before Wang Yi's departure, there were some discordant voices from the British side, and Wang Yi would have to face the provocations that Britain had long prepared.

Just a few days ago, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, a calculating and notorious figure, said of the upcoming Munich Security Conference that he was expected to discuss issues related to the Red Sea with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He also claimed: "I think China will fully support freedom of navigation as much as we do, because it is important anywhere in the world, including Taiwan." ”

By confusing the Red Sea with the Taiwan Strait, Cameron's approach is clearly a difficult problem for Wang Yi. In fact, the two regions are completely incomparable, with the Taiwan issue being China's internal affair and the Red Sea issue being a separate issue. Britain's attempts to use Taiwan to coerce China and confront the Houthis in the Red Sea could even lead to a deterioration in relations with Iran and other Middle Eastern countries.

The spokesman of our embassy in the UK has firmly rejected Cameron's remarks. However, at the Munich conference, Cameron is likely to set a trap for our *** long Wang Yi. At that time, Wang Yi will face a test and will need to use wisdom and flexibility to respond.

At the same time, Wang Yi's visit also included high-profile visits to France and Spain. Spain is an important member of the European Union and a comprehensive strategic partner of China, and the number of exchanges between the two countries is increasing. France and China are both permanent members of the UN Security Council, and a number of important agreements were signed during Macron's visit to China.

Wang Yi's trip was very shrewdly arranged: on the one hand, reaching a series of consensus with these two countries will contribute to the global security situation and help express China's position.

On the other hand, although we do not intend to suppress the UK, objectively, this trip is also a reminder to the UK. The current economic situation in European countries is not optimistic, and it is precisely when China is needed, and China is engaged in cooperation negotiations with France and Spain, which will inevitably attract the attention of Britain. This can also be seen as a response to the UK's pressure on China.

Taken together, the global security situation has not improved after 2024. As UN Secretary-General António Guterres pointed out not so long ago, the world is entering a turbulent era. At this critical juncture, it is hard to imagine what the situation would have been without a responsible power like China contributing impartially to global development.
