Urban and rural education The source of high school students in the county has decreased sharply, and the educational dilemma in the mountainous areas has emerged!
A colleague who has taught at a middle school in the city for nearly 20 years said he was starting to feel the crisis:
1.In 2023, the school's gaokao graduates will reach around 2,800, while the number of new students will only be 1,300, a decrease of more than half in three years!
2.The county closed 26 elementary and middle schools last year and is expected to close more than 20 this year, largely due to a smaller student population.
3.Over the next five years, only one middle school and three high schools will remain in the district, and the rest will all be closed.
4.The Ministry of Education has begun to send out messages to reduce the number of teachers, no new teachers will be recruited, and the number of old teachers will gradually decrease. If the city's first planned vocational school cannot enroll students on time, it will face tremendous pressure.
5) The student is 46 years old and holds a middle management position. At first, he hoped for a chance to be promoted, but now it seems unlikely, and even his management position will be cut.
6) He said that if he retired in his fifties, he would not dare to imagine that he would feel young all the time, and the reality of suddenly facing retirement made his heart very heavy.
In mountainous counties, this situation is normal, because the population is decreasing, the number of students in kindergartens and primary and secondary schools is decreasing, and in the next few years, university enrollment will also face the problems of shrinking students, weak schools becoming strong schools, and local schools constantly merging schools.
It's easy for students to get into college, but it's getting harder and harder to find a job after graduation. Currently, the flow of graduates is extremely uneven, with all students graduating wanting to work in the civil service and listed companies, and no one wants to work in the labor market or in the agricultural sector.
Now only the elderly live in the countryside, many arable and rice fields are deserted, many companies in the cities have closed down and cannot recruit people, many graduates are unemployed, and many young people are not married or have children. What are your thoughts on this situation?
