ChatGPT users can invoke GPTs in conversations

OpenAI Announces Addition of Access Methods for GPTS Services; Now ChatGPT users can call GPTS directly in the conversation.

GPTS is a custom chatbot that ChatGPT users can call online by typing the @ (mention) symbol in the conversation, and these bots can immediately understand the complete context of the user's conversation.

GPTS is an OpenAI provider that developers can customize the development of specific interests or specialized ChatGPT on the basis of GPT or DALL-E. Developers can upload their work to the GPTS Store, which goes live in mid-January, to share with others and even get monetary feedback. GPTs that have been officially launched this month include Khan Academy's Code Tutor, Academic Report Search and Synthesis Assistant Consensus, Mountaineering Path Suggestion Alltrails, Presentation or Post Design Assistant Canva, Book Recommendation Assistant Books, and Math and Science AI Tutor CK12-Flexi.

OpenAI previously announced that it would announce the GPTS feedback plan in January this year, but as of Wednesday (1 31), no relevant information has been announced.

According to TechCrunch, GPT Store has great intentions to increase the stickiness of developers and general users by providing a monetary feedback mechanism, but there are also two challenges to overcome. One is the need for sufficient traffic, and the other is a management issue. According to the data of the market research agency, GPT Store traffic only accounts for 27%, which has been declining since its unofficial launch in November last year.

The second is the issue of management. As with social media, many of the uploaded GPTs have political propaganda intent, or are pornographic or sexually suggestive. If left unchecked, it may scare away users and attract concern or formal punishment from the competent authorities. A few days ago, OpenAI suspended a chatbot that mimicked Democratic politician Dean Philips and its developer.
