Flight landing in Soviet memories.
On December 19, 1985, before the smoke of the Soviet military parade on Red Square had dissipated, our radar station captured a shocking piece of information: an airplane marked with a civil aviation logo suddenly intruded into the airspace of Qiqihar City, China, and made an emergency landing on farmland.
In order to find out the truth, the radar station immediately contacted the local public security and militia and quickly rushed to the scene. The result was jaw-dropping, it turned out to be a passenger plane from the USSR!
A Soviet plane that made a forced landing caused speculation and tension during the Sino-Soviet war. Everyone wants to know why this plane is here at this special time, is it a spy plane, or is it a mechanical failure?
Soon, the bearded Soviets on the plane solved the mystery and it turned out to be a one-man hijacking planned by him who wanted to take refuge here. He said it was a Soviet civil aircraft with 38 passengers and five crew members on board.
The mastermind was the bearded co-pilot with a calm expression - Ali Mudoraf. The result was both surprising and laughable.
Although Azerbaijan is not a great people, it has a strong people's customs. Alimoudorav is a representative of this tenacity and integrity, inheriting the excellent characteristics of the people located in the harsh environment of the Caucasus Mountains.
His integrity stemmed from the rigorous training of Soviet military exercises.
Alimudoraf has shown outstanding talent for solving questions since he was a child, and has become a well-known scholar. He is not only talented and virtuous, but also energetic. With his own efforts, he was easily admitted to the university and was hired by the Soviet Civil Aviation Authority, becoming the envy of everyone as a Soviet pilot.
In addition, he fell in love with a Moscow girl, married and had children, and lived a happy life. However, life is always full of uncertainties.
At that time, the idea of privilege was prevalent in the Soviet Union, and in order to get a good job, it was often necessary to find connections. But Alimudoraf, a tenacious and upright Azerbaijani youth from the Caucasus Mountains, abhorred this phenomenon.
Ignoring the warnings of his colleagues, he wrote more than 50 letters of accusation to the CPSU ** and higher departments, exposing the phenomenon of privilege. If he hadn't realized that the department was not suspected of collaborating with the enemy, perhaps he would have appealed to the KGB.
The Lubyan card bag was fed and lived, and Comrade Ali Mudoraev thought that as long as the report letter was sent to **, the anti-corruption storm of the Civil Aviation Authority would come. However, he did not wait for the news of **, but waited for the retaliation of some high-level officials within the Civil Aviation Administration.
It turned out that Alimudoraf's letters were all transferred to the CAA executives through unknown channels.
The Soviet bureaucratic Civil Aviation Administration reacted lukewarmly to Ali Mudorav's complaint, which they considered a sign of a problem with the brain and needed to **. As a result, poor Alimudorav was classified as mentally ill by the Civil Aviation Authority and was forced to undergo five psychiatric evaluations.
This protracted mental examination left Alimoudoraf physically and mentally exhausted, and the Civil Aviation Authority took the opportunity to transfer him to a flight post and send him to a remote location as a ground crew.
During the Soviet era, Ali Mudorav, a ground crewman, lectured the children for three consecutive years, but during this time, he and his wife spent very little time together, which made him feel very miserable.
He even began to wonder if he was going to have a nervous breakdown. He felt that there was no place for himself in the USSR, and everyone in the Civil Aviation Agency wanted to ** and torture him.
So, it occurred to him that the Soviet Union could not stay any longer, and I could go to live in other countries. So, which country can protect itself? He had in mind the United States, a country that could go toe-to-toe with the Soviet Union.
Alimudoralef, who had been desperate for the breakdown of Reagan's family, excitedly told his wife about his plan after choosing a fleeing destination. However, the wife immediately objected, believing it to be an act of treason, and asked Ali Mudoraf if there was a direct flight to the United States.
After being rejected by his wife, Alimudoraf felt hopeless, but he did not give up and decided to fly to China.
Three years later, Alimudoraf, the co-pilot of the An-24 short-haul aircraft, was transferred from his post because of his past misconduct. However, the Civil Aviation Authority, after seeing him learn this lesson, became conformist and thought that he would not do anything to the detriment of everyone's interests, so he reinstated his status as a pilot.
However, this proves that the judgment of the USSR Civil Aviation Authority was somewhat hasty. Immediately after receiving boarding clearance, Alimoudorav chose a passenger plane to Irkutsk and served as a co-pilot.
This choice once again proves his determination and action, and it also makes people question him again.
On the morning of 19 December 1985, Alimoudorav took advantage of his position to bring steel bars and a folding knife onto the plane. Alimoudorav, who worked in the Civil Aviation Administration for many years, was not concerned about security at Soviet airports.
When the An-24 roared and took off from the airport, Alimoudorav waited until the plane had flown smoothly for some distance and found an excuse to put the plane's mechanic and another flight attendant out of the cab.
Then, Alimoudoraf closed the door of the plane from the inside and locked it, took out a knife and pointed it directly at the pilot, threatening him to change the course.
When the An-24 pilot heard that the other party wanted the plane to change its route and cross the airspace to make a forced landing in China, his expression instantly became nervous. At this time, Sino-Soviet relations were tense, and millions of troops were deployed on each of the borders of the two countries, which was tantamount to adding fuel to the fire, and the possibility of causing a third world war could not be ignored.
Under the control of Soviet troops, Alimudoraf's fruit knife brought the pilot back to his senses, allowing the An-24 airliner with Soviet livery to make a safe forced landing on a farm outside Qiqihar.
After that, Alimoudorav explained in detail to the Chinese personnel how he hijacked the plane. However, the Chinese side who learned the truth were not happy, because it seriously interfered with their holiday plans.
Therefore, they immediately arranged for personnel to take Ali Mudorav away. Although the culprit had already been taken away, there were still more than forty Soviets on board the plane to deal with.
In the cold winter of Northeast China, a group of Soviet flight attendants distrusted China because of domestic propaganda. They were afraid that once they got off the plane, they would be suspected by the Soviet intelligence agencies, so no matter how much the Chinese tried to persuade them, they were reluctant to get off the plane, and even the women wore skirts and carried them all night.
In international diplomacy, China and the Soviet Union are actively mediating to resolve the issue of a defected Soviet driver. For the Soviet Union, this incident was very humiliating internationally.
In contrast, the Chinese side handled the matter more flexibly, did not overhype the matter, but took a low-key approach and took the initiative to contact the Soviet Union and ask them to pick up the Soviet personnel.
The Soviet Union also wisely relinquished its right to deal with Alimudoraf, thus taking care of China's international image.
The Soviets, who had been waiting in the cold wind, received special assistance from Heilongjiang Province, and they received two buses with heaters and bread and milk that were in line with Soviet habits.
After eating their food, the passengers began to enter the car with heaters in batches to warm themselves. However, despite the warm environment, they took turns returning to the plane, doubting the goodwill of the Chinese side.
Fortunately, China's senior diplomatic attaché arrived at the scene in time to resolve the issue.
The Chinese commissioner was a veteran of Soviet diplomatic experience. His first task was to get the Soviet passengers off the plane to prevent them from freezing because of their long stay in the plane.
However, these Soviets were very stubborn, and they were reluctant to leave the plane, no matter how the Chinese commissioner explained it in Russian. This made the Chinese commissioner feel a little tricky, because he knew what these Soviets were afraid of.
They may be investigated by the KGB when they return home, which happened only after listening to China's advice.
Under pressure from Andropov, the core leader of the KGB, passengers were nervous about the Chinese rhetoric, which they saw as a propaganda offensive by the Chinese side. The Soviets insisted that they could only get off the plane on orders from the CPSU, which led to a tense atmosphere at the scene.
At this time, the Soviet commissioner hurried to the scene, and when he saw that the Chinese commissioner was also at the scene, his anxiety was relieved. After all, they used to meet a lot at work and get acquainted with each other.
When the Chinese commissioner saw the arrival of the Soviet commissioner, he breathed a sigh of relief and thought that the problem had been solved, but he did not expect that after the Soviet commissioner had talked on the plane, he shook his head at the Chinese side sweating profusely when he came down and said: "I have to go and ask for instructions!" ”
Inside the An-24 airliner, since the Chinese commissioner could not handle it, he had to wait for instructions from the Soviet side. During this period, the Soviet commissioner stayed at the scene to constantly calm the passengers' emotions, so that the passengers began to relax and stop on the bus at will, which shows that the goodwill released by the Chinese side is not without effect.
While waiting for the Soviet Union's reply, the Chinese side has also begun to ask for instructions and successfully contacted the Soviet Union's chief executive.
The Soviet Union was in turmoil, and the defection of a plane caused not only the regulatory problems of the Civil Aviation Administration, but also the malfeasance of the Territorial Air Defense at the time of the incident, which was outrageous.
Therefore, when the Soviet Union learned that China took the initiative to contact and deal with the matter, it immediately agreed, for fear that the domestic scandal would leak out and damage the country's image. And this information actually reached the scene before the Soviet Union itself, fully exposing the backwardness of the Soviet Union's electronic communications industry.
The Soviet commissioner, who was in the cab, received an order from Moscow through outdated instruments and equipment to disembark the passengers on board immediately. At this point, he looked at his colleague from China and hesitated.
After all, as a professional diplomat, he must examine whether his Chinese friends are also professional.
The internal political atmosphere in the USSR changed, and an atmosphere of conservative restraint permeated the entire Politburo of the CPSU, which led to the fear of responsibility for the Soviet commissioner. So he boarded the plane again and tried to persuade the passengers to get off the plane with a tougher attitude.
He forbade passengers to ask questions, insisting that they obey orders. The Soviet passengers, frightened by the bureaucracy of the commissioner, obediently dismounted.
Faced with the starvation and cold of the Soviet stranded personnel, the Chinese side immediately dispatched more than 10 air-conditioned buses and sent them to a luxury hotel in Qiqihar. Here, they not only enjoyed a comfortable stay, but also received the most advanced down jacket at that time.
This moved the Soviets, who had experienced the cold day and night, and even shed tears. This down jacket is a hit in China's major cities, but in the eyes of the Soviets, who have a drab industrial style, it is a very amazing gift, and everyone can't put it down.
In China's reform and opening up, such warmth and care convey friendship and respect between people, and more importantly, friendly exchanges and understanding between the two countries.
1.Soon after, the Soviet stranded received the assistance they had hoped for – a plane from the Soviet Union. As a token of appreciation, the Chinese side proposed to hold a farewell party, which the Soviet side readily agreed.
At the meeting, the rich food and wine made the Soviet passengers forget their fatigue and anxiety for a while, and they talked and laughed with the Chinese personnel, and some Soviet passengers even drank wine and said: "It would be nice to stay a few more days." ”
This remark caused laughter from everyone present. Eventually, the plane, carrying rejoicing Soviet passengers, flew back to their homeland. 2.The path of the stranded Soviet personnel to return home has finally taken a turn, and they will soon be rescued by the Soviet Union - a plane.
In order to express its gratitude to the Chinese side, the Soviet side accepted the Chinese proposal and decided to give thanks at the farewell party. The rich menu and wine made the Soviet passengers forget their tiredness for a while, and they talked and laughed with the Chinese personnel, and even one Soviet passenger drank wine and said, "It would be nice to stay a few more days." ”
This statement made everyone present laugh. In the end, the plane, which carried the joy of Soviet passengers, flew back to their homeland. 3.The way back home for the stranded Soviet personnel finally saw the light of day - a plane was sent by the Soviet side.
As a token of gratitude to the Chinese side, the Chinese side proposed to hold a farewell party, which was agreed to by the Soviet side. At the meeting, the rich food and wine made the Soviet passengers forget their fatigue and anxiety for a while, and they talked and laughed with the Chinese personnel, and some Soviet passengers even drank wine and said: "It would be nice to stay a few more days." ”

Piloted by the head of the flight bureau of the USSR Civil Aviation Administration, the An-24 aircraft was successfully returned to the territory of the Soviet Union after being repaired by maintenance personnel sent by the Soviet Union. The original hijacker, Ali Muradov, was in China for 8 years, and he has no objection to the result.
When the USSR collapsed, China**, with the consent of Alimuradov, returned him to Russia. Before leaving, he was already fluent in Northeast dialect and had made many friends in China.
He personally thanked China for its care over the years and expressed his deep gratitude to China.
Yeltsin's remarks on the hijacking incident on the tank vehicle showed the resourceful response of China and the Soviet Union in the crisis, and actually eliminated the estrangement between the two countries. Through the moderate diplomatic strategy of the Chinese side, the tensions that the Soviet Union had with China since 1960 were ended, and the Soviet Union withdrew its troops from Mongolia and Afghanistan, respecting China's opinion, and demarcating the northeastern boundary river according to the main shipping lane.
These initiatives are historically significant. However, we should also note that the serious deterioration of domestic politics and people's livelihood at the end of the Soviet Union led to people like Alimuradov who loved their homeland so much being wrongly convicted of mental illness and forced to take the risk of hijacking planes.
This shows that the factors of the Soviet Union's dilemma are very complex. We don't know how Alimuradov would have felt when he returned to nascent Russia and saw the things and people around him.
