Three minutes to talk about culture

Come to the night and dream together, and you can't collect tears in the morning.

Zhangpu is sick three times, and Xianyang is eight autumns.

Jun buried the mud under the spring, and I sent the world full of snow.

Awei Hanlang went to the same time, did the night platform know at a loss?

This is a mourning poem, mourning the poet Yuan Zhen, written by Bai Juyi nine years after Yuan Zhen's death, when Bai Juyi was already a 69-year-old man.

Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhi met in Chang'an when they were young, and the two hit it off at first sight, and they were impressed by each other's literary style and temperament, and they had the same three views and the same aspirations. In order to realize their common grand ambitions, the two participated in the scientific expedition together, and entered the court together as officials, drank and sang poems together in their spare time, and their friendship was very good, and they became lifelong poetry friends.

In 831 A.D., the 53-year-old Yuan Zhi died of illness in Wuchang, and his coffin was buried in Xianyang the following year. One night nine years later, Bai Juyi, who had just recovered from a serious illness, saw Yuan Zhi in a dream, and after waking up, he had mixed feelings and sorrow, so he wrote this poem. "Micro" is the Yuan Zhen.

The first couplet: "Come to the night hand in hand and dream together, and the tears in the morning are not collected", the poet saw Yuan Zhen in a dream, and traveled hand in hand with him, and woke up with grief in his heart.

At this time, Bai Juyi was already old and frail, and he was recovering from a serious illness, so he was sentimental and emotionally fragile.

Jaw Lian: "Zhangpu old body is sick three times, Xianyang Sucao eight autumn", writing that he is old and frail and often sick, and your old friend you have spent eight spring and autumn in the underground of Xianyang.

"Zhangpu" refers to the Zhanghe River, Liu Zhen was sick in Zhangpu during the Three Kingdoms, and Bai Juyi was sick in bed several times in Luoyang, so he compared himself with this. "Xianyang Sucao" refers to the weeds on the tomb of Yuanzhi located in Xianyang. In the second year after Yuan Zhen's death, his coffin was buried in Xianyang. "Grass" refers to the grass of the next year on the grave. "Eight autumns of the grass" refers to the fact that the weeds on the tomb of Yuan Zhi have been reincarnated eight times, which means that Yuan Zhi has been buried in Xianyang for eight years.

Neck couplet: "Jun buried the mud under the spring, I sent the world full of snow", writing that Yuan Zhen's bones under the nine springs may have turned into mud, and he is still temporarily living in the world with a head full of white hair.

"Mud bones" refers to the bones of a corpse that are eroded by the soil and eventually melt into the soil. "Sending the world" is Bai Juyi saying that he is currently temporarily living in the world. "Snow full head" means full of white hair.

Tail couplet: "Ah Wei Han Lang went to each other, and the night platform was confused and knew no", writing that Yuan Zhen's son Ah Wei and son-in-law Han Lang have passed away one after another, and the place in the underworld is blurry and dim and does not see the light, I don't know if you know these circumstances?

"Yetai" refers to the grave and is also used to refer to the underworld. "Ambiguity" means ambiguity.

The living want to know the situation of the deceased, and they also want to tell the deceased about the trivial and trivial things in the world, even if it is in vain, they are full of hope.

This poem mainly writes about the grief in the poet's heart after waking up from a dream, expressing his thoughts and mourning for the deceased Yuan Zhen, which is tear-jerking to read.
