RIA Novosti said on February 22 that Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said when talking about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, "(Russian army) is stopping? Will it be Kyiv? Yes, it is possible. If not now, it could be some time later, when the conflict develops to a certain stage. ”
Medvedev said: "There is a reason for this. Kyiv is (historically) a Russian city from which the threat to the existence of the Russian Federation arises. ”
Many people believe that Medvedev is a "big mouth", and he is just addicted to talking big.
But if we really look at it that way, we are very wrong. You know, Medvedev was both the Prime Minister of Russia and the Russian **, and now as the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, will such a person talk nonsense? He was clearly saying it on Putin's behalf, or Putin instructed him to say so.
Medvedev further explained that Kiev is controlled by an international detachment of Russia's enemies, led by the United States. All those who officially perform their duties there are puppets, who have neither a conscience, nor fear for the future of their country, nor the ability to do so. All decisions are made by the other side of the ocean and NATO headquarters. It's obvious.
There are two meanings in this statement: First, Ukraine has no sovereignty and no independent decision-making power. Second, the Ukrainians are all puppets of the United States and the West, and they do not have the right to decide whether war or peace is at all.
That's just the way it is. From Zelensky to Foreign Minister Kuleba and others, which one is not obedient to the United States? How could the United States agree to Ukraine's acceptance of ceasefire proposals and conditions when Ukraine is so passive?
Medvedev is well aware of this. Zelensky has no way back. Only by persisting in the fight and seeing if there is a turning point for Russia's self-collapse.
However, it is impossible for Ukraine to defeat Russia by relying on US and Western assistance, and it will eventually face defeat.
But accepting a ceasefire, Zelensky will inevitably be liquidated by domestic political forces. Therefore, it is unlikely that Zelensky will accept a ceasefire through negotiations, nor will he accept the reality of four states joining Russia. Therefore, the current Zelensky is "fighting even if he knows that he can't win", and there is only one way to go to the black.
It is with this judgment that Medvedev said that the process of Ukraine's disappearance from the world map cannot be stopped, as evidenced by what happened in the theater of operations of the special military operation, and many Western analysts understand this.
Of course, Medvedev's remarks also have the motive of hitting Ukraine's morale, undermining the confidence of the United States and Western aid, and then making Ukraine lose confidence.
The intimidation in these words is very obvious. If Ukraine continues to insist on not accepting a ceasefire and not participating in negotiations, the Russian army may re-approach Kyiv and launch a large-scale siege operation to end the war.
This time, Russia will not continue to be deceived.
Russia arrived on the northern outskirts of Kyiv in January 2022, but surrounded it but did not fight, and eventually retreated on its own initiative.
It turned out that Russia was fooled. In the first month after the outbreak of the war, Ukraine and Russia held three talks, and Ukraine also agreed to accept Russia's condition of "remaining neutral and not joining NATO", and the two sides have reached an intention for a peace treaty. In a show of sincerity, Russia withdrew from the northern outskirts of Kyiv by the same route.
Unexpectedly, Zelensky was immediately pressured by the United States and Britain to refuse to negotiate again, claiming that he would "carry out the battle to the end", and as a result, this fight was two years, and Ukraine's mountains and rivers were shattered, and lives were devastated, to the extent that there was already a serious shortage of soldiers.
The war has been fought so far, and for Russia, it cannot be fought endlessly, and although Russia can stand up to the sanctions imposed by the United States and the West, it will definitely make Russia unhappy. Only by ending the war will all this diplomatic passivity slowly pass.
Next, Russia is going to carry out a larger operation to overthrow Zelensky before the United States resumes aid, so it cannot be ruled out that Russia will attack Kyiv as the goal of the operation.
Therefore, Medvedev's words are not alarmist, but aimed at deterring Zelensky and the Ukrainian military and government, and if you don't accept reality, the end will be the disappearance of the Ukrainian state.
