Originally built as a boarding school for the children of Southeast Asian missionaries, the school has grown into an international school with a diverse student body. With 88 years of experience in running a school, the learning environment is harmonious and warm, providing students with American, college prep, and biblical worldview education. 04 Curriculum
Adopted by Dalat International SchoolAmerican Educational StandardsMCREL Standards and Benchmarks Compendium. Dalat also adopts Whole School Expected Learning Outcomes (ESLR), a teaching method that focuses on cooperative learning and activity-based learning.
(1) - Elementary stage - (Preschool - 4th grade of primary school).
At this stage, holistic education, character development, differentiated teaching and active learning are emphasized. Students have ample opportunities to explore and develop a variety of interests and skills.
In addition, the Elementary School offers special lottery programs in **, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Library, and Technology to enhance our core curriculum. We also offer EAL (English as an Additional Language) services and after-school club opportunities.
(2) - Middle School - (Grades 5-8).
Grades 5-8 are considered secondary but are further subdivided into intermediate (5,6) and secondary (7,8). The project is designed to reflect the gradual transition from an independent classroom to a high school format.
All grade levels learn the basic core content of language arts, math, social studies, science, and the Bible every day.
In addition, students take classes in Computers, Art, Study Skills, Health, and Band (Grades 6-8) each year. The aim is to provide students with a quality educational experience in a diverse field.
(3) - High School - (Grades 9-12).
International School of Dalat offers a North American education that prepares students for admission to colleges and universities around the world. Upon completion of four years of study and 24 credits, students will receive a U.S. High School Chinese credential. The curriculum and instruction provide a broad foundation for general education and are well-prepared for the global university system.
In order to prepare for admission to higher education, students need to plan to take standardized tests such as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Tests (ACT), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Advanced Placement (AP) exams, or SAT II subject tests in the appropriate areas required by the college or university.
(4) -AP Courses-
Currently, 9 refresher courses are offered on the school campus and 30 other courses are offered online as needed.
On-campus courses typically include AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Psychology, AP Chemistry, AP Chinese, AP Art Studio, and AP** Theory.

(2) New, modern classrooms
Facilities include separate buildings with elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, each with its own character on the same open campus. New classrooms built in 2016 and 2018 provide space for high-level teaching in science, math, fine arts, and encourage collaboration.
(3) Family-style dormitories
DIS provides students with a second home, and the school wants students to grow independently. Make new friends and learn life skills through a supportive and encouraging environment like accommodation.
Comfortable guest accommodation
Parents of DIS students are always welcome and encouraged to visit. There are two rooms in the dormitory building for visiting parents. Each room has a private bathroom and the following furniture: a queen-size bed, two single beds in bunk beds and a kitchenette table.

07 Application Materials
Admission Procedure
Fill in the application form, attach a recent photograph and submit it to the school with an application fee of MYR 300.
Follow the instructions to complete the follow-up** and send it to the school (Teacher Recommendation Letter, Principal Tutor Reference Form, Student Health Report).
Pass the English language assessment interview (written and conversational), apply for admission, register, and visit the school.
Precautions
For August entry, the application must be completed by May 1.
If you start in January, you must complete your application by December 1.
