On the second day of the Lunar New Year, the sun is shining and the air is fresh. Our family of four decided to go for a walk in the back mountains to feel the atmosphere of the New Year. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and felt the beauty of nature. 
When we arrived at the back mountain, we found that many people had already come to play. Some people rest in pavilions on the hills, others fish by the lake, and others walk in the woods. We also sat down in a pavilion and started enjoying the wonderful time.
At this time, an old man caught our attention. He was dressed in an old-fashioned tunic and held a wooden cane, looking a little haggard. He slowly walked over to us and sat down. We started talking to him.
The old man told us that he was a soldier when he was young and participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan. We were deeply moved by his recounting of the cruelty and heroism of the war. We can't help but sigh at how great and strong the people of that era were.
Subsequently, the old man took out a box from his pocket, which contained some ** and souvenirs. He showed us his youth and the honorary certificates he received. We saw his demeanor and heroic image in his youth, and we couldn't help but be proud of him.
In our company, the old man spent a pleasant afternoon. As we parted, we thanked him for his story and sharing, and wished him a long and healthy life. He smiled and said, "Young people, cherish the moment and work hard." ”
This encounter with the elderly made us deeply appreciate the meaning and value of life. We are full of emotion and cherish the present even more. Back home, we decided to work and live harder to live up to this wonderful time.
