Now that you've created the variables for Distance and XY Tolerance, you can create model parameters.
The steps are as follows: Right-clickDistance [value or field].and select itModel parametersoptions, as shown in the image below.
Figure 49 Creating Model Parameters.
Letters will appear next to the variablep, which indicates that this variable is a model parameter. This model parameter is then also displayed on the Model Tools dialog box.
Create model parameters for the following variables (not forbufferedfcCreate Model Parameters).
plana_roads
vegetype
XY tolerance.
clippedfc
modelbuilder" to specify a default name for the variable. These variable names are used to display as parameter names on the model tool dialog box. It's a good practice to rename variables, especially if the variable is a model parameter.
The steps are as follows: Right-click Plana Roads and clickRename
Enter input roads, and then clickOK。The variable name will be changed to input roads.
Rename the rest of the variables as follows:
Rename distance [value or field] to buffer distance.
Rename vegetype to input vegetation.
Rename clippedfc to output clipped feature class.
Save. Model. You don't need to quit ModelBuilder.
InTable of ContentsDouble-click the model in the window to open the Model Tools dialog box. You may need to move or minimize the ModelBuilder window to access itTable of ContentsWindow. The Model Tools dialog box should look similar to Figure 50. The order of the parameters on the dialog may vary, but this is not a problem and will change this order next.

It can be accessed by clicking on itOKto execute the tool, but it is recommended that you select a different output feature class with a different name than the previous output feature class before executing the tool. Once the tool is executed, the output feature class is added to the table of contents in ArcMap. Unlike running a model within ModelBuilder, running a model through the Model dialog does not change the model diagram.
