Has the dialect of your hometown changed?

those who ignore it as a natural evolution of society; Conservatives regard it as impetuous and shallow; Worse, it rises to the point of cultural betrayal.

Who is right and who is wrong?

Phonological changes are not new today, they are a necessary process in the development and formation of language. It's just that today, this change is accelerating at an accelerated pace, and in the same region, the voices of people who are 10 years apart are mutating, so that there is a "generation gap" in communication.

Taking the southwestern official dialect as an example, people born before the 70s read: world (gai), customs (xv) surname Yan (ngan); The younger ones are read through the world (jie), customs, and surnames (yan).

These are all "variations" influenced by the mainstream language, that is, Mandarin, and are still under control. The problem is that now younger generations, this variation is expanding infinitely, and people are confused.

The most typical is: WeChat (Mandarin pronunciation prestige), and the southwest standard pronunciation should be (Weixin), but this tool was first popularized from the young group, middle-aged and elderly people, knowing that the pronunciation is wrong, but also had to obey the "prestige".

In the young people who have little life experience, this kind of sound change can't stop the car, basically follow the Mandarin roll, and use the Mandarin pronunciation to read the dialect, such as: tearing state (wrong pronunciation, the meaning of gaffe, the southwest standard pronunciation is "real"), taking pictures (the southwest standard pronunciation is "row photo").

To be honest, I really can't listen to this dialect.

This has nothing to do with whether it is conservative or not, because if a dialect has changed to such a point that it has completely lost its original linguistic rules and characteristics, so that the fluency and beauty of the rhyme and the sense of beauty are lost, and the communication is not smooth, then it is better to speak Mandarin, why hold on to such a "sick" language?

The consistency of the official dialect of the southwest far exceeds that of any dialect in China, and Ganzhou and Guilin, which are in the south, can communicate with Hanzhong and Longnan, thousands of miles away, in their native dialects, without barriers. This kind of span is unattainable by Mandarin before the popularization, and this kind of dialect has played a huge role in promoting the socio-economic communication and even historical development of the whole region, and we cannot ignore its positive value, let alone history.

This kind of language, which has a wide range of social and cultural foundations, can not only inherit traditional culture, but also save management costs, so why not interfere and regulate it from the social level, and let it be fragmented?

Therefore, phonetic variation is not laissez-faire, as a dialect with high regional unity and rich cultural connotation, it is necessary to speak out and interfere and standardize the evolution process, whether it is an institution or a state-of-the-art dialect.

As is often the case, social workers in language management are outsiders to language use, and they insist on national unity.

1. Social progress, management harmony and other extremely correct things, and they are not the recipients of language reform, they just whip the horse of language reform, regardless of whether the road is smooth or not, whether the people in the carriage will fall down.

Since the car is going fast or the road is wrong, the person in the car has to say it.

Of course, the above views are only for the southwestern dialects of the region, and the other lesser ones, which only have a linguistic and cultural sense, are beyond the scope of this discussion.
