He was the first historian in Chinese history, the creator of Chinese characters, and the pioneer of Chinese historical records.
Cangjie's original surname was Hou Gang, his name was Jie, and he was commonly known as Cangjie Ancestor. It is rumored that Cangjie was born with "double eyes and four eyes", and in ancient books, Cangjie was called "dragon face and four eyes, born with Ruide". Legend has it that Cangjie saw the movement of the stars and the footprints of birds and beasts inspired by different categories, collected, sorted out and used, played an important role in the process of creating Chinese characters, and was respected as the "saint of word making", known as Cangjie character creation in history. After Cangjie created characters, "the sky rains, the ghosts cry at night", and the creation of words greatly promoted the development of Chinese civilization.
Cangjie's characters have six types of meanings, including referring to things, images, shapes and sounds, understandings, transfers, and pretenses. During the reign of Cangjie, he patrolled to the south to hunt his leader, and found the spirit turtle negative book in Luoxi, so Cangjie worshiped Luoshu. This prehistoric legendary figure has never been mentioned in the classics of our country before the ancient Warring States period. The earliest mention of Cangjie was Xun Qing during the Warring States Period. Later, it gradually developed into legends such as Cangjie was the "historian of the Yellow Emperor".
As the inventor of Chinese characters, Cangjie is only a representative and symbol of many "wise men" who have contributed to the invention of Chinese characters.
