In the new year, the conflict situation in the Middle East has become more and more complicated, especially on the battlefield of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and some subtle changes have emerged. The United States' moves in the Red Sea region have attracted attention, while the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip has suddenly cooled down, with Israeli troops withdrawing and US aircraft carriers returning to their bases.

In the Red Sea region, the U.S. military killed 10 Houthis and is preparing to unite allies to launch further operations against the Houthis. At the same time, Iran sent ** into the Red Sea and held a diplomatic meeting with Yemen. Such a move heralds the imminent outbreak of a major conflict, and the impact of the direct involvement of the US military cannot be ignored.

At the same time, however, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip has shown a tendency to de-escalate. The Israeli army retreated massively, and the US aircraft carriers also returned to their bases. Civilians in the Gaza Strip witnessed the gradual withdrawal of Israeli tanks. The Israeli army has indicated that it is making tactical adjustments, planning to change its future operational plans in Gaza and launch more sustained operations. However, in contrast to what Israel calls tactical adjustments, in fact they have made a massive retreat. Over the past period, Israel has withdrawn five combat brigades, and three more are currently preparing to be withdrawn. As a result, Israel has withdrawn eight combat brigades from Gaza, which can be described as quite large. This so-called tactical adjustment is a bit like Russia's "tactical retreat" against Ukraine last year, but the reasons behind it are far from the same.

Looking back at the three months that the conflict in Gaza has been going on, Israel has not achieved its goal of eliminating Hamas, and has even been frequently attacked by Hamas due to the terrain, causing heavy losses. Now, Israel has to face reality and realize that the goal of eliminating Hamas is no longer achievable. However, they can't stop their actions easily, as that would be seen as a towel. For this reason, Israel has chosen to declare its readiness for a long war and has withdrawn part of its troops. Such a strategic adjustment is due to financial considerations, and Israel cannot afford to pay for a long-term war of this magnitude.

At the same time, the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier confronted the Houthis while quietly allowing the USS Ford aircraft carrier battle group to return to the US mainland base, which also indicates that the intensity of the conflict in the Gaza Strip will further decrease.

Israel's military operation against the Gaza Strip is, fundamentally speaking, a very unsuccessful one. They are now caught between their position in the Middle East on the one hand, and enormous social and economic pressures at home on the other, and Netanyahu is helpless. It seems to me that as the conflict in Gaza cools down, the world's attention to this event will gradually decline. Netanyahu is likely to take this opportunity to end the fight abruptly, declare victory and try to end the fight with dignity. However, Hamas will not give up easily, and regional forces such as Allah in Lebanon, Iraqi militias and the Houthis in Yemen will fight resolutely. And Iran, the biggest force behind these armed forces, will not compromise.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is not only a manifestation of internal contradictions in the region, but also an opportunity for Iran to oppose US hegemony in the Middle East. Although the conflict has been provoked, it is not up to Israel or the United States to have the final say on how easy it is. However, as the intensity of the conflict in the Gaza Strip decreases, so does global attention to the region. Netanyahu is likely to end the conflict in a way that fools the past and declare victory in an attempt to end it with dignity. However, the underlying issues behind this conflict have not been resolved, and the regional parties will continue to fight, while forces such as Iran will continue to support the armed forces. The future situation in the Middle East is still full of uncertainties, and we need to pay close attention and seek a reasonable solution.

The evolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and Israel's tactical adjustments have triggered my reflections on the situation in the Middle East. Although the internal contradictions in the region are complex and the forces of all parties are complex, I believe that only through dialogue and cooperation can we solve the problem. Conflicts and wars only bring more ** and destruction, ultimately plunging the parties into an endless vicious circle. I hope that the international community will be able to promote the peace process and find a viable solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and other Middle East issues through the efforts of all parties. It is only through peace and cooperation that lasting stability can be achieved in the Middle East and that the people can live in peace and prosperity.
