During the Spring Festival, many major energy, water conservancy and transportation engineering projects were carried out in an orderly manner, and front-line builders welcomed the New Year and started a new journey with a attitude of struggle and hard work, providing support for the continuous recovery of the economy.
The construction of the world's highest dam during the Spring Festival does not stop.
On February 10, the first day of the Lunar New Year, the site of the Xinjiang Dashixia Water Conservancy Project was in full swing. Engineers and technicians control excavators, loading trucks, etc., to level the dam surface and conduct concrete panel tests between the mountains and valleys.
Early in the morning, Xu Shumei, deputy manager of the I standard project department of the Xinjiang Dashixia Water Conservancy Project, and her teammates began a routine inspection of the dam. Seeing that the results of various quality tests on the scene were normal, Xu Shumei rubbed her frozen red hands and breathed a sigh of relief.

Xu Shumei, a native of Chongqing, has participated in the construction of six water conservancy projects in Xinjiang. This year is the fourth Spring Festival in which she has not been reunited with her family in the Dashixia Water Conservancy Project. "Although I can't accompany my daughter for the Spring Festival, the dam is my home, just like my son, and my duty is to ensure that 'her' grows up healthy. Xu Shumei said with a smile.
Xinjiang Dashixia Water Conservancy Project is a major national water conservancy project for water conservation and water supply, with a maximum dam height of 247 meters, which is currently the world's highest concrete panel dam and the world's highest gravel dam.
In the large machinery shuttling back and forth, Liang Ling is facing the walkie-talkie to direct the operator to level the dam. "After a busy year on the construction site, we originally planned to go home for the New Year, but this year's construction schedule was relatively tight, so we chose to spend the New Year on the spot. Liang Ling said.
The dam filling section needs to settle for 6 months before the concrete can be poured, and it cannot be delayed for a single day. Chen Wendeng, the production manager of the project, said that this year is the most critical year for the transition from dam filling to concrete panel pouring construction, and the construction plan must be formulated during the Spring Festival.
During the Spring Festival, there were nearly 100 construction personnel left behind, and the construction was progressing in an orderly manner. Participating in the construction of the Xinjiang Dashixia Water Conservancy Project was a valuable learning opportunity for me. Zhao Dongxu, a newly recruited college student in 2023, said.
As of February 16, the dam has been filled with a height of 203 meters, the amount of filling has reached 16.63 million cubic meters, and the side wall has been squeezed to 374 floors, and the elevation has reached 16622 meters, the tests are progressing smoothly.
The builders stick to the front line of the integrated base of water, scenery and scenery in the Yalong River Basin.
During the Spring Festival, thousands of builders adhered to the front line of the construction of the integrated water, wind and solar base in the Yalong River Basin, and the construction of a number of clean energy projects such as Mengdigou and Kara, Lianghekou Hybrid Pumped Storage Power Station and Zara Mountain Photovoltaic Project was carried out in an orderly manner.
At the construction site of the diversion tunnel of Mengdigou Hydropower Station, all kinds of large construction machinery shuttled back and forth, and more than 500 builders fought on the front line. Liu Fan from the Engineering Technology Department of Mengdigou Construction Administration is a new employee who will join in 2023, and he shuttled between different work surfaces in the past two days to ensure the progress and quality of construction. ”

At the site of the Kara Hydropower Station downstream of Mengdigou, 34 tall hammer drilling rigs rise and fall on the upstream and downstream cofferdams. Nearly 500 builders were busy with the roar of machines around key lines such as engineering flood relief, dam slope support, and plant excavation. Yang Yang, director of the engineering department, has been coordinating on site, "After the flow is intercepted, the cofferdam and seepage wall should be completed before the flood in 2024 to ensure the safety of the flood, and the time is tight and the task is heavy." ”
The construction of the Yalong River Zara Mountain Photovoltaic Power Station, which will start construction in 2023, is the largest new energy project in Sichuan Province, with the construction site between 3,200 meters and 4,200 meters above sea level. During the Spring Festival, more than 300 builders took root at the site, focusing on pile foundation construction operations, with more than 80,000 pile foundation drilled and about 40,000 poured.
Not far away, the second phase of the Labasan wind power project has entered the critical stage of wind turbine hoisting, and the on-site temperature is as low as minus 5 degrees Celsius. The project builders stick to the site, seize the construction window, carefully organize the transportation and hoisting of large fan equipment, as well as the main hoisting disassembly and transfer, strictly control the construction quality of each process of fan hoisting, and ensure the safety of fan hoisting construction.
At the same time, 25 working faces, such as the traffic tunnel of the Lianghekou Hybrid Pumped Storage Power Station and the first-level power supply project of Yagen, are under intense and orderly construction, and 19 participating units and nearly 1,000 builders are fighting on the Kham snowy plateau.
The construction of "Hualong No. 1" and "Linglong No. 1" has been steadily promoted.
During the Spring Festival, as the first "Hualong No. 1" nuclear power base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Taipingling Nuclear Power Station has completed the acceptance of the outer dome and entered a critical period of construction. During the Spring Festival, more than 8,000 builders stick to the work site.
The outer dome is a key piece of equipment to ensure the safety of the operation of the nuclear power plant, and the capping of the dome means that the nuclear power plant can start the next step of operational testing. This year is the second year that Yi Mingxiong, deputy manager of Huizhou's nuclear power engineering management department, has stuck to his post during the Spring Festival. "The project can't be stopped. Once stopped, when the construction starts again after the festival, everyone will have to re-familiarize themselves with the 800 tons of steel bars and 28,000 joints on the dome. Yi Mingxiong said.
Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Base, during the Spring Festival is also a busy scene, construction vehicles shuttle back and forth, large cranes are hoisting operations, more than 6,000 builders stick to the construction site.
At present, the No. 3 unit of "Hualong No. 1" of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Base continues to carry out the welding work of the main pipeline, and the No. 4 unit of "Hualong No. 1" is in the process of installing the gantry structure and constructing the main equipment transportation channel. The world's first nuclear island of the "Linglong-1" reactor has just completed the hoisting of the outer dome, and the installation of the storage rack of the reactor internals is being carried out to create conditions for the subsequent introduction of reactor internals. Conventional islands and other areas are carrying out cable laying and panel installation for backup power reversing.
The construction of the world's longest highway tunnel is in full swing.
During the Spring Festival, at the construction site of the Tianshan Shengli Tunnel of the Wulu (Urumqi) Wei (Yuli) Expressway in Xinjiang, the roar of machines came and went, and hundreds of builders were working day and night.
The total length of the Tianshan Victory Tunnel is 2213 kilometers, is the "throat" project of the Wuwei Expressway, and it is also the longest highway tunnel under construction in the world.

In the face of extra-long, cold, high altitude and ultra-complex geological conditions, we innovatively adopted the construction method of 'three holes + four shafts', the main tunnel adopts the traditional drilling and blasting method, and the middle pilot tunnel adopts the two-way rapid excavation of hard rock boring machine, which opens up auxiliary working faces for the left and right double main tunnels, realizes the 'long tunnel and short play', and greatly shortens the construction period. Wang Xiaobing, deputy chief engineer of the fifth bid section of Xinjiang Wuwei Civil Engineering of China Communications Construction Co., Ltd., said that the technology was applied for the first time in the construction of domestic highway tunnels.
According to reports, at present, the left hole at the entrance end of the Tianshan Shengli Tunnel has been excavated for a total of 8,129 meters; A total of 7717 have been excavated in the right hole2 meters; A total of 8951 have been excavated in the pilot tunnel4 meters. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the Tianshan Shengli Tunnel will be completed, and the Wuwei Expressway will be ready for traffic by the end of 2025. At that time, the time it takes people to drive from Urumqi City to Yuli County will be shortened from more than seven hours to about three hours.
