DefinitionsThe 3a test is a test that performs a comprehensive simulation test of a single package shipped in a parcel form, and is applicable to 4 different types of packages transported in a single package, including air and land transport.
Type: Standard packs, small packs, flat packs, long packs, etc.
Standard packs: All packages that do not belong to the following types of packaging (small, flat, long) are collectively referred to as standard packaging. For example: corrugated boxes, plastic containers, wooden packaging or cylindrical containers, etc. The following is an example:
Small packs: The following three conditions are met at the same time.
Volume less than 13000 cm3 (800 in3);
The size of the longest edge is not more than 350mm (14in);
The mass is not greater than 45kg(10 lb);
The following is an example:
Flat packs: The following three conditions are met at the same time.
The shortest edge size is not more than 200mm (8in);
The size of the second short edge shall not be less than 4 times the size of the shortest edge:
The volume is not less than 13000 cm (800 in);
The following is an example:
Strip packs: The following two conditions are met at the same time.
The size of the longest edge is not less than 900 mm (36 in);
The length of the remaining two axial edges is not greater than 20% of the longest edge.
The following is an example:
Scope: Suitable for individual packs with a mass of up to 70kg (150lbs) shipped in parcels.
