The father of the satellite committed suicide and cried bitterly

Salute to scientists In today's society, some people are keen to hype up some so-called "stars" and "singers", such as "Brother Coat" Zhu Zhiwen, in fact, they only have a primary school education and can sing a few old songs, but they can become popular, this phenomenon is worrying.

We should respect those scientists who have made great contributions to the country in obscurity, rather than blindly following the trend. Today, let us pay tribute to those meritorious scientists who have devoted their lives to the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" and the "Dongfanghong-1" artificial earth satellite.

Especially Zhao Jiuzhang, who dedicated his life to the cause of science, but finally chose to commit suicide because of the pressure of work, this spirit is worthy of our deep admiration and learning.

Zhao Jiuzhang, born on October 15, 1907 in Kaifeng, Henan Province, is known as the "ancient capital of the Nine Dynasties". His hometown is in Huzhou, Zhejiang, but his achievements shine brightly in the Chinese physics community.

In August 1929, Zhao Jiuzhang was admitted to the Department of Physics of Tsinghua University with excellent results, becoming Professor Ye Qisun's protégé, and ranked fourth among 174 male students.

After graduation, Zhao Jiuzhang stayed at the university as a teaching assistant in the Department of Physics and began his own scientific research path.

In 1933, Zhao Jiuzhang took a group photo with his classmates Wang Zhuxi and Fu Chengyi in Tsinghua Garden. From 1934 to 1938, Zhao Jiuzhang was sent to the University of Berlin in Germany for further study at public expense, and received a doctorate degree when he graduated.

The young Zhao Jiuzhang, who had just received his doctorate, had a deep love for the motherland and met with Tsinghua classmate Qiao Guanhua in Hong Kong.

Here, Zhao Jiuzhang was recommended by his mentor Ye Qisun to serve as a teacher at Southwest Associated University and continue to contribute to the education of the motherland.

Zhao Jiuzhang lived a difficult life during the Southwest Associated University, and the first clothes when his daughter was born were made from a few of his mother's socks. Due to the bombing of Japanese planes, Zhao Jiuzhang was forced to move many times, once he only used a small cart to load all his belongings, seeing this scene, the teacher Wu Youxun was deeply sympathetic, and said: "I want to shed tears when I see those things that Jiuzhang moved." ”

In 1944, Zhao Jiuzhang went to Beibei, Chongqing, under the recommendation of Zhu Kezhen, president of Zhejiang University, to serve as the director of the Meteorological Research Institute of the ** Research Institute, when he was 37 years old.

On the eve of the imminent victory in the War of Liberation, Chiang Kai-shek ordered the scientists of the ** Research Institute to go to Taiwan. However, Zhao Jiuzhang decided to stay on the mainland and oppose the Kuomintang's policy of relocating to Taiwan.

He said that he had been displaced after eight years of anti-Japanese war and was no longer willing to leave his homeland again. Zhao Jiuzhang adhered to the position of major rights and wrongs, stood on the position of New China, and made contributions to the construction of New China.

* Zhao Jiuzhang during the period, when the founding of New China, he raised his arms and shouted: "The spring of science has finally come, and we will make the motherland rich and strong on the road of science!" ”

Zhao Jiuzhang immediately wrote to his classmates overseas: "Although Chu Cai is promoted, in the end, we still have to return to the motherland and contribute to the construction of New China. In 1955, the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established, with Zhao Jiuzhang as the director.

He not only took on the important task of tackling key scientific problems, but also spared no effort to teach the rising stars, encourage them to grow rapidly, and contribute to the scientific development of the country.

On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union successfully launched the first artificial earth satellite, which caused a global shock. The following year, the far-sighted company also announced China's goal of developing its own artificial satellite.

This sentence made Zhao Jiuzhang's blood boil, and he waited for ...... with anticipation

New copywriting: Zhao Jiuzhang received a secret mission from the organization, which required him to stay incognito, stop the scientific research work at hand, cut off contact with his family, and lead a team to carry out a *** job, codenamed "581".

In the Xihua Hall of Zhongnanhai, Zhao Jiuzhang faced the prime minister and said firmly: "I am willing to do anything for the needs of the country." ”

In a period of little-known research and development, Zhao Jiuzhang led the team to study in the Soviet Union, but was blocked by the core technology. He stood up the indomitable backbone of the Chinese and said to the team: "It is better to rely on heaven and earth than on ourselves, what the Soviets can do, we Chinese can do!" ”

Under the leadership of Zhao Jiuzhang, from the radio telemetry system, radar tracking system, to various instrument accessories, and the combination between the accessories, he personally went into battle, and together with the team, he explored little by little, and tested again and again.

When he was tired, he rested at his workbench; When you are thirsty, drink a glass of cold boiled water; When you are hungry, you nibble on bread. After several years of hard work, this mysterious celestial body has a preliminary model - a nearly spherical 72-sided body with a diameter of 1 meter.

Zhao Jiuzhang and his team, the artificial celestial body that they devoted all their efforts to research and development, was about to take off, and the bad news came: Zhao Jiuzhang died on October 25, 1968 at the age of 61 due to an overdose of sleeping pills.

Ten days later, when the prime minister called** to inquire about the progress of the classified mission, he learned the heart-wrenching news. ** couldn't help crying, feeling that he had failed to protect Zhao Jiuzhang, and said regretfully: "It's me who didn't protect Zhao Jiuzhang!" ”

The prime minister later asked Zhao Jiuzhang to be buried properly, but even his body could not be found. Although Zhao Jiuzhang has left us, his spirit lives on, and his dream of an artificial celestial body being lifted into space will continue to be realized by future generations.

When Zhao Jiuzhang's readers and friends wanted to know the reason behind this, we had to go back to 1927. That year, Zhao Jiuzhang was imprisoned for participating in revolutionary activities.

Due to the early death of his parents, he was raised by his aunt Zhao Xueyan in Hangzhou. When he learned the news of his nephew, Zhao Xueyan found Dai Jitao, a veteran of the Kuomintang, hoping that he could come forward to save people.

It turned out that Dai Jitao's wife Niu Youheng was the third sister of Zhao Jiuzhang's mother, and also his third aunt, nephew, and uncle should be held responsible. With the help of Dai Jitao, Zhao Jiuzhang was soon released.

After that, Dai Jitao made him his entourage secretary, and it was not until 1929 that Zhao Jiuzhang was admitted to Tsinghua University and left Dai Jitao.

In that special era, "* let Zhao Jiuzhang's righteous behavior be distorted. As a young man, his relationship with Dai Jitao, a veteran of the Kuomintang, became a lever for being attacked by the "rebels" and characterized as a "reactionary academic authority".

During the day, he still led the team to persist in scientific research, and at night he had to endure "jet-like" physical torture and the inhuman humiliation of burning cigarette butts, which lasted for more than 600 days until October 1968.

At the scene of the Cultural Revolution criticism meeting, Zhao Jiuzhang tried to contact his Tsinghua friend Qiao Guanhua, who was the first minister at the time, but because he lost the right to contact, he was never able to communicate.

In June 1968, when he heard the news that Yao Tongbin, a rocket materials expert, had been beaten to death, Zhao Jiuzhang felt complete despair and finally chose a path ...... no return

On April 24, 1970, when China announced the successful launch of its first artificial satellite, Dongfanghong 1, people realized that the research of Zhao Jiuzhang of the "581" team was related to this historic moment.

Although the chief designer who studied it regrettably missed this exciting moment, Zhao Jiuzhang's contribution and influence will forever be engraved in the hearts of the people, the motherland and history.

In 1997, 44 scientists jointly proposed to erect a bronze statue of Zhao Jiuzhang, which now stands in the Jiuzhang Building, the research and research building of the Space Center, to pay tribute to this great scientist.

In September 1999, Zhao Jiuzhang was awarded the "Two Bombs and One Star" Meritorious Service Medal.

On October 29, the naming ceremony of the "Zhao Jiuzhang Star" named after aerospace scientist Zhao Jiuzhang was held in Beijing, and the international number of the star was "7811".

Zhao Jiuzhang, a bright star in the history of Chinese science! His name will always shine in the sky of science in New China!
