Peacock is a dance work created and launched by Yang Liping in 2012, adapted from her famous work "Spirit of the Sparrow", which she wrote and directed. The "peacock" in the play is a bird and a man, but also a lot of living beings, the dance drama revolves around the two eternal themes of life and love, through the four chapters of spring, summer, autumn and winter, embodies the life, old age, sickness and death of life, and conveys the artist's thinking and perception of art and life in the process of growing up.
In the past ten years, "Peacock" has been performed in more than 40 cities around the world for more than 300 performances, the new version of "Peacock" by Yang Liping personally as the chief choreographer, and invited Oscar "Best Art Design Award" winner Tim Yip and other artists to join in the creation, Yang Liping as a special star, personally interpret the chapter of "Winter". With a duration of two and a half hours, Yang Liping presented an unprecedented visual feast for the audience in this version of "Peacock", in addition to the world-famous classic dance segments such as "Spirit of the Sparrow", "Love of the Sparrow" and "Watch", there are also Yang Liping's personal interpretation of "The Death of the Peacock" and "The Dance of the Introduction", as well as newly created and revised and upgraded fragments - "Seven Peacock Dance", "Desire Sea Crow", "Peacock and Crow", etc.
On February 3, the dance drama "Peacock" continued to be performed twice in a row at the Guangxi Culture and Art Center.
