In the flames of the Liberation War, the Kuomintang army launched a frenzied attack on the liberated areas. Yan Xishan's subordinate Ai Ziqian, commander of the 72nd Division, led three regiments into Wenshui County and brutally swept and arrested the surrounding Communist Party personnel.
In the face of the deteriorating revolutionary situation, the Wenshui County Committee of the Communist Party of China, in order to protect the revolutionary personnel, decided to transfer most of the cadres to the mountains, leaving only a very small number of comrades to continue the struggle.
And Liu Hulan, a girl who was only 15 years old, not only did not agree to the transfer, but resolutely chose to stay in the mountains to continue the revolution. She believes that she is younger and more familiar with the revolutionary environment, and is more qualified to do her job.
After consideration, the organization finally decided to let her stay in Yunzhou West Village and continue to fight for the revolutionary cause.
After Yan Xishan garrisoned Wenshui County, he appointed his cronies as the magistrate of Wenshui County and reappointed a group of village heads. Shi Peihuai is the village chief of Yunzhou West Village, and in order to win Yan Xishan's trust, he actively acted as his lackey, went to the countryside to collect grain, and affected the lives of the people, so he was called "Dog Village Chief".
Liu Hulan was deeply outraged by this and reported Shi Peihuai's counter-revolutionary behavior to his superiors, and Xu Guangyuan, the head of Wenshui County, ordered his execution. Shi Peihuai's death frightened the big landlord bullies in the village, and they organized a "revenge team" and vowed to catch the **.
Zhang Derun, secretary of the puppet village office, believed that the district head Chen Dezhao, his younger brother "Yuyan San" and the female ** Liu Hulan and others should be responsible, so he provided information to the 1st Battalion of the 215th Regiment.
On January 12, 1947, Ai Ziqian, commander of the 72nd Division, sent the 215th Regiment to raid Yunzhou West Village and arrested Liu Hulan and seven other communists and progressives.
Liu Hulan originally planned to leave the village, but was discovered by the enemy, she walked to the square without hesitation, and in the face of the enemy's coercion and temptation, she firmly said: "Those who are afraid of death should not be the Communist Party!" ”
However, none of the villagers were willing to expose the crimes of these people.
Liu Hulan is a staunch believer in the Communist Party, and in the face of the threat of the enemy, she is undaunted and sticks to her beliefs, even if it is for life. She was well aware of the importance of the secrets of the Communists to the enemy, so she was determined not to give in and would not divulge any secrets.
In the face of the threat of the enemy and the threat of death, she chose to sacrifice her own life to protect the lives of other innocent people. Liu Hulan's heroic behavior moved the soldiers and civilians, and they issued slogans to "eliminate the Yan warlords" and liberate Wenshui.
When the chairman learned of Liu Hulan's deeds, he was deeply moved, and he wrote the eight characters "great in life, glorious in death" for her in recognition of her heroic deeds and firm faith.
On February 2, 1947, the 359th Brigade attacked in Wenshui County, and the enemy's 72nd Division was routed after a short battle with our army, and they surrendered one after another, so the PLA captured more than 1,500 enemy officers and soldiers.
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) pursued the main culprit who killed the martyr Liu Hulan. Lu Defang, the captain of the "revenge team" in Elephant Town, took advantage of the war to escape, but after being reported by the masses, the People's Liberation Army quickly pursued him and shot him.
And Lu Defang's elder brother Lu Shanqing was also arrested, this person is a "three-material spy", his subordinates have a lot of blood debts, and they asked to be shot with the approval of their superiors, but they were postponed to the day of the memorial day of the martyr Liu Hulan, and then they were detained in the training class for interrogation.
Because Lu Shanqing never saw his younger brother Lu Defang, thinking that he had been killed, so in the face of the interrogation of the guards, he pushed all the conspiracy activities on Lu Defang, saying that he did not know the inside story, and was later suppressed and shot.
After that, the People's Liberation Army arrested Wu Jinchuan, Bai Zhanlin and others of the revenge team, but it never caught ** Zhang Quanbao, Xu Desheng, Hou Yuyin and others, but our party did not give up the pursuit and review of those **.
In order to praise this heroine, the art troupe of the army also took its deeds as the theme, created a number of works in a short period of time, and performed them in various places.
With the efforts of literary and artistic personnel, the heroic image of Liu Hulan has been reshaped several times, and her deeds have also spread to all parts of the country. Because he didn't know the name of the "bearded" Zhang Quanbao, and through the name of the soldiers, he knew that this person was a company commander, and he had a signature beard, so he was called "bearded company commander" by literary and artistic personnel.
Under the verification of many parties, it was learned that it was the 1st Battalion of the 215th Regiment that attacked Yunzhou West Village, and the 2nd Company was responsible for the execution.
In March 1950, the vigorous "anti-rebellion" movement began, and the villagers of Yunzhou West Village actively participated, and one of the villagers said that when he was selling dates in Qi County, he found a person who looked similar to Xu Desheng.
After receiving the report, the police of the Public Security Bureau immediately came to Qi County to investigate, and arrested Xu Desheng in the "Wanhetang" pharmacy. After the liberation of Wenshui County in February 1947, he came to Qi County to continue the rebellion, wanting to gather reactionary personnel to contend with the People's Liberation Army, but after the liberation of Qi County, he fled to Jialing Town, and became a man in the pharmacy, and was shot on April 4, 1951, which was also the first to be found out of the martyrs such as Liu Hulan
Villagers in Yunzhouxi Village actively participated in the "anti-rebellion" campaign, and one villager said that when he was selling dates in Qi County, he found a person who looked similar to Xu Desheng.
After receiving the report, the police of the Public Security Bureau immediately came to Qi County to investigate, and arrested Xu Desheng in the "Wanhetang" pharmacy.
Wang Liancheng accidentally met his former superior, Zhang Quanbao, but found that the other party had changed his name to Zhang Shenghao, and his appearance had changed greatly, and he had lost his iconic beard. Zhang Shenghao threatened Wang Liancheng, saying that as long as he dared to reveal his identity, he would kill his whole family, and Wang Liancheng had no choice but to nod.
Wang Qinsheng, the county magistrate, believed that the information on Wang Lian's transaction was true and reliable, and reported the matter to the leaders of the Public Security Department of the Yuncheng Special Administration, which aroused the attention of the leaders. It turned out that Zhang Shenghao was captured by the People's Liberation Army in the battle to liberate Taiyuan and sent to the farm**, and then he was released and returned to his hometown in Yuncheng, changed his name to Zhang Shenghao in order to cover up his identity, cut off his beard, and started a small business.
When he saw the news that Xu Desheng was arrested and shot, he was worried that he would be found out, so he changed his vegetable kiln into a kiln, and asked his wife to go outside to talk about his hometown in Shandong.
An investigation by the Yuncheng Public Security Bureau found that Zhang Shenghao should be at home, and neighbors also provided new clues.
The Yuncheng Public Security Bureau adopted the method of encircling and raiding Zhang Quanbao, because the other party had been a soldier, he might have a gun in his hand, and he had committed a major crime of killing his head, so he might desperately resist.
In the early morning of May 8, 1951, Zhang Quanbao was having dinner and was arrested before he could react. The public security directly named him as the ** who killed the martyr Liu Hulan.
Under the interrogation of **, he confessed to the fact of killing seven martyrs. In order to reduce his sentence, he also confessed to the other main culprit, Hou Yuyin, saying that the two killed Liu Hulan together.
The three ** were arrested one after another, and the county magistrate Wang Qinsheng immediately wrote a letter to report to the chairman and explained the situation to Liu's mother. Soon, Wang Qinsheng's letter was published publicly, attracting national attention, and under the strong recommendation of the society, Shanxi ** interrogated Hou Yuyin and Zhang Baoquan in front of the tomb of the martyr Liu Hulan, and was shot on June 24 of the same year.
In September 1959, Vice Governor Zheng Lin inspected Xicun in Shanxi Province, and after learning of the case that had been put on hold, he immediately asked the political and legal organs to resolve it. After two months of investigation, three suspects including Shi Wuze were found and arrested.
In May 1960, the joint task force arrived in Wenshui to investigate and find out the truth about the defection of Shi Wuze and others. Shi Wu was one of the first three people to join the party in Yunzhou West Village, held important positions, and was also Liu Hulan's superior.
However, he was insidious, had an improper style, and had an unclear relationship with the landlord Duan Er's widow, which caused ridicule from the villagers. The Women's Committee called on women to make military shoes to support the front line, but Duan's widow used straw paper instead.
Liu Hulan was very angry when she learned about it and asked Duan Er's widow to redo it, but Duan's second widow found Shi Wu and asked for help. Liu Hulan refused, and reported Shi Wuze's act of shielding Duan Er's widow, causing Shi Wuze to lose his position as secretary of the peasant association and his party membership.
When Wenshui County was invaded by the enemy, the organization did not let him hide, which made him frustrated and decided to take revenge, providing the enemy with a list of party members in Yunzhou West Village. Under the leadership of Captain Lu Defang, the "revenge team" composed of bullies in Tianxiang Town came to Yunzhou West Village, robbed and captured Shi Wuze.
Shi Wu revealed in the conversation that the person who killed the "dog village chief" was Chen Dezhao, the head of the second district. Lu Defang assigned the bully team members to rob Chen Dezhao's house, burned down his house, and robbed 18 truckloads of food and clothing.
Liu Hulan witnessed all this, and immediately reported the enemy's crimes and the names of the bandits to the traffic officer Shi Sanhuai, and through him reported to Chen Dezhao. Shi Wu also reported to Lu Defang what he had learned recently, and had the fifth meeting with him, during which he betrayed the entire list of ** in Yunzhou West Village.
On January 8, 1947, the enemy raided Yunzhou West Village, and under the leadership of Xu Desheng, Shi Sanhuai, Shi Liuer, Shi Wuze and others were captured. Shi Wu knew how to cooperate with acting, so he was not nervous.
Shi Sanhuai and Shi Liu'er were tortured but did not betray the party organization, while Shi Wuze and Han Laji confessed to Liu Hulan, Shi Shifang and other communists during the interrogation.
On January 12, Zhang Quanbao and Xu Desheng led the 1st Battalion to attack Yunzhou West Village. As early as October 1947, the local ** arrested Shi Wuze, but he firmly denied betraying Liu Hulan, and because the evidence was difficult to find, Shi Wuze was released on December 23.
However, after returning to the village, Shi Wuze hyped up Shi Sanhuai as a traitor and sent the information to the "revenge team".
In court, due to the large number of people who reported Shi Wuze, he was forced to confess his crime. Subsequently, Zhang Sheng'er and Han Laji also confessed their guilt and exposed Zhang Derun's crimes.
In this way, all the criminals who betrayed and killed Liu Hulan and the other seven martyrs were finally brought to justice. Shi Wuze and Shi Xiyu were sentenced to death, and others were punished accordingly.
At this point, those revolutionary martyrs can finally rest in peace.
