At about 19 o'clock on February 17, an 11-year-old boy in a community in Jinghe Street, Dongxihu District, Wuhan City, accidentally fell into a sewer well and was trapped at the bottom of the well due to a foot injury when he fell into the well. After receiving the alarm, the Wuhan Fire and Rescue Command Center immediately dispatched 1 fire truck and 6 firefighters from Jinghe Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a boy trapped in a sewer well about 3 meters deep and 1 meter in diameter, with a small amount of water at the bottom of the well. After communicating with the boy in the well, the firefighters learned that the boy was unable to exert force on his foot because he injured his ankle when he fell into the well. After calming the boy, a firefighter put on safety gear and slowly descended down the wall to the bottom of the shaft, put on a safety helmet for the boy, and used a safety belt to secure the boy around his waist. After the safety measures were taken, the firefighters at the bottom of the well lifted the boy's waist, and the firefighters at the wellhead pulled the safety rope upwards synchronously. After the joint efforts of the public, the boy was successfully rescued and transferred to the 120 ambulance waiting at the scene.

It is understood that the boy who fell into the well is 11 years old this year, and he walked his dog with his mother near the community that night. When the mother found out, she immediately found a rope to try to rescue the boy, but was unable to rescue him due to a foot injury. Eventually, with the help of passers-by, I called the police on 119**. Fortunately, firefighters arrived at the scene in time to rescue them. At present, the boy is receiving treatment in the hospital after being taken to the hospital**, and the preliminary diagnosis is ankle fracture.

Wuhan Fire Reminder: The manhole covers that can be seen everywhere in life seem to be ordinary, but in fact they hide many dangers. When the public sees a damaged or loose manhole cover while walking, it is best to take a detour and not step on the manhole cover casually. If you accidentally fall into the well, you should keep calm, touch the wall of the well with your hands to find out if there is a handrail to climb, and shout for help to the wellhead to attract the attention of pedestrians. If the fall into the part is deep, you can throw your belongings to the ground to transmit the distress signal, and the underground is prone to hypoxia, so you should stay calm when the call for help is ineffective, save your strength and wait for rescue.
