Haibo porcelain
Chen Haibo. "Dragon" is a description of the dragon's soaring posture, and it is also the most popular congratulatory message this year. Only one word "龘" is full of power and totem meaning, which makes people can't help but feel like seeing the word like seeing a dragon, as if the dragon is shuttling vigorously to the clouds, high-spirited and enthusiastic, exuding infinite magic and majesty.
The sons and daughters of China are proud of the descendants of the dragon, and because of their admiration and worship, they endow the dragon with images and spirits such as sacredness, strength, wisdom and dignity. This spirit not only shows the Chinese nation's view of natural heaven and earth, but also closely depends on the development of Chinese civilization, becoming a deep-rooted Chinese complex, a flesh-and-blood national emotion, and a timeless spiritual symbol and cultural symbol.
For thousands of years, the image of the dragon has been a carrier of passionate imagination and creativity, from the birth of legendary imagination to the continuous change with the demand for dragon culture and the development of the times. As an auspicious symbol that people love and sought, the image of the dragon shows the diverse and brilliant style of Chinese culture. In this context, it is not easy for artists to make continuous breakthroughs in the creation of dragons.
Artist Zhou Cheng's latest creation, "龘龘", is a dragon that has caught my eyes this year. In terms of modeling, the artist was obviously inspired by the shape of the "first dragon in China", the jade dragon of the Hongshan culture in the Neolithic Age. The head of the dragon has a long closed snout, the nose is protruding forward, the front of the dragon's eyes is slightly protruding, and the tail of the eyes is thin and curled. There is a long mane on the back of the neck, which not only looks domineering and flamboyant, but also has a calm and stable temperament, and the whole shape is simple and vigorous, strong and powerful.
Different from most of the round dragon bodies, "Lu Lu" uses more square lines, which has a sense of power in the lines and block surfaces of Sanxingdui bronze creations, and also reminds me of the bronze plate of the Panlong of the Yinxu Women's Good Tomb, the Kui Dragon pattern of the Houmu Wuding, or the double dragon pattern pottery fan unearthed from the Houma Bronze Casting Site in Shanxi. The same decorative concept is transformed into a modern new twist in the three twists of the dragon's body, through the twisting and white edges, the dragon body is dynamic, and the simple and refined technique instantly brings the whole dragon to life.
The combination of form and color creates a sufficiently diverse imagination space for the work. The bright and beautiful Lang red glaze undoubtedly adds a bit of auspiciousness and joy to "Lu Lu", and Lang red glaze is also known as Chinese red, imperial red, rich red, and millennium red, each of which is obviously in line with the authority, auspiciousness and domineering of the dragon. In addition, there is also a shadow blue glaze, which makes the dragon show a completely different temperament, like a fairy spirit, does not eat the fireworks of the world, galloping outside the nine skies, the breeze and the moon, casual, free and easy.
When the dragon is in his prime, he should also look back to the past, which is what I learned from Professor Zhou Guozhen, a master of pottery. 12 years ago, Professor Zhou Guozhen carefully created a ceramic sculpture of the Chinese zodiac in the Year of the Dragon under the name of "The Dragon Returns to the Past". The giant dragon's body is bent and extended, the claws hold the earth, the dragon's forehead is protruding, the eyebrow arch is high, and the shape of looking back and the muscle strength of the limbs correspondingly interesting, like Jing Yi looking at the past, and if the power of the erection is all over the world, with the uneven movement and stillness, the balance of the beauty of the song, the image of the rhythm highlights the majestic momentum and dynamic beauty of the auspicious dragon, the physical characteristics and the spiritual connotation are combined, producing a continuous, reincarnation of eternal life, majestic atmosphere of the artistic effect.
At first, I was puzzled by why I wanted to be a dragon that goes back to the past, but Professor Zhou's answer at that time still impresses me to this day. He said that on the occasion of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, our party should be good at looking back and thinking and summing up. The giant dragon is glazed with bronze green, which presents the dragon's atmosphere and domineering flexibly, highlighting the courage and momentum of the auspicious dragon, elegant and harmonious without losing the mighty and domineering, which is another vigorous innovation, continuation and reinvention of the dragon-shaped ceramic sculpture. Later, this giant dragon with great artistic creativity and connotation was exhibited at the National Art Museum of China and attracted much attention.
Looking back at the last year of the dragon, 12 years ago, 2012 was also the departure year of "New China". The trip to New York that year began the cultural journey of "New China" to the south and north, and even into the North and South Pole. This year, "New Porcelain" will usher in the 10th edition, and at the beginning of the year, this project was also included in the project database by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, which is a great encouragement for me and "New Porcelain". Don't forget the original intention, never just a slogan, but also to practice and action, so I also hope that "new porcelain" in the new year can have a "luan" posture, there is a "Dada" fruit.
Longteng Ruiqi is accompanied by blessings, and spring is full of glory in China. On the first day of the Year of the Dragon, facing a new year, here, we would like to celebrate the Year of the Dragon with "The Dragon" and "The Dragon", wishing everyone the new year "The dragon opens a new year, and people meet a good year", and we will enter the vigorous and hopeful Year of the Dragon together. I also wish the great motherland "purple air in the new year, and auspicious clouds in the prosperous era".
