The United States and China are the world's first and second largest economies respectively, so they are very in-depth in terms of exchanges. China has been the largest importer to the United States for 20 consecutive years, and China has exported a large number of goods to the United States, and the United States cannot do without the Chinese market.

However, the data of 2023 shows that China's exports to the United States are only 427.2 billion US dollars, and Mexico's exports to the United States have increased to 475 billion US dollars.

China is one of the largest partners of the United States, and the scale of exchanges between the two countries is huge. China is an important export market for the United States, and a variety of products, from food to industrial goods, are exported to the Chinese market. At the same time, China is also an important importer of the United States, from electronics to clothing and footwear, all have a significant share of the American market.

Many U.S. companies rely on China's ** chain, especially in electronics, manufacturing, and other fields. With the help of China's huge first-chain system, U.S. companies will make their products in China and keep their designs in the United States. It can be said that the United States' dependence on China is mutual, and the economic ties between the two countries are close and interdependent.

Seeing the continuous development of China's science and technology, the United States began to be unable to sit still, so it made all kinds of moths and built high-walled courtyards to exclude Chinese enterprises. The U.S. has severely restricted U.S. companies from shipping advanced chips to Chinese companies, from semiconductor equipment to EDA industrial software, to today's AI and new energy batteries.

In this case, how are U.S. imports performing in the Chinese market? According to data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce, China's imports to the United States will only be $427.2 billion in 2023, and China will lose the No. 1 position in U.S. imports.

Instead, Mexico's exports to the U.S. amounted to $475 billion, up 5% year-on-year in 2022, while China's decline was 20% year-on-year. This is the first time in 20 years that Mexico has surpassed China to become the largest importer of the United States.

The reason why China has lost the No. 1 position in US imports has a lot to do with the subjective factors of the US leadership. The import demand of U.S. companies to China is still huge, but under the U.S. policy, U.S. companies have readjusted their businessmen.

Including this year, the United States has implemented a policy that if American companies purchase new energy vehicle batteries from Chinese companies, they will not receive a subsidy of $7,500, which has led to a rapid decline in models eligible for subsidies. If U.S. companies want to get subsidies, they can only choose the cooperation of other countries.

As a result, the amount of batteries imported by the United States from China is likely to continue to decline. Could it be that the United States has succeeded in de-Sinoization and got rid of its dependence on China's ** chain? I'm afraid it's not that simple. The goods that the United States has significantly reduced China's imports mainly include computers, electronics, chemicals, and so on.

The United States may be able to find alternatives to these upper-class commodities, but in terms of basic raw materials, the United States has not many choices.

China has mastered a large number of rare earths, gallium, germanium, graphite and other materials, from mineral reserves to processing technology are world-leading, if the United States wants to produce a large number of chips, automobiles, have to import raw materials from China. The United States will eventually find that de-Sinoization is impossible to achieve, and when it comes back to cooperation, the choice is in our hands.
