On August 1, 1836, the great anti-Japanese hero Zhao Yiman wrote the last letter of her life in prison, which was a suicide note to her young son at home.
The letter reads: My dear Ning'er, it is a very regrettable thing for me that my mother failed to fulfill her responsibility to educate you, and your mother is a staunch anti-Japanese fighter of the Communist Party.
Now that we have come to the eve of sacrifice, you must never have the chance to see each other again.
Mother is worthy of you, because I died for our country, Mother is sorry for you, because you still have to live hard, Mother can't teach you in a thousand words, so she will educate you with practice, please grow up quickly**.
You can puff up your chest and tell the world that your mother is Zhao Yiman!
The day after writing the suicide note, Zhao Yiman was tied up in a car to parade through the street and escorted to the execution ground, at the age of 31, she stained the hearts of all Chinese people with blood, and her brilliant and short life is worth remembering by everyone.
In 1905, Zhao Yiman was born in a wealthy small landlord family in Yibin County, Sichuan, formerly known as Li Kuntai, she was the youngest of her father's nine children, and was quite favored.
At the age of 8, he entered a private school to study poetry and literature, laying a good foundation in literature, and as a young man, he was influenced by new culture and progressive ideas.
The young Zhao Yiman threw himself into the revolutionary work without hesitation.
In 1924, after the recommendation of Zheng Youzhi, the brother-in-law of the Communist Party member of the family, Zhao Yiman successfully joined the Communist Youth League of the Communist Party in Sichuan Branch, and was successfully admitted to Yibin Girls' Middle School two years later.
During her studies at the school, she relied on her excellent organizational skills and literary skills to work in the student union.
After the establishment of the Yibin Special Branch in China, she also successfully changed from a member of the Communist Youth League to a member of the Communist Party.
In October 1926, under the arrangement of the party organization, Zhao Yiman went to Wuhan ** Military and Political School to study.
In September of the following year, she was sent to the Eastern University in Moscow to begin further studies, where she met her future husband, Chen Dabang.
After graduating from the Whampoa Military Academy, Chen Dabang followed the arrangement of the party organization and went to Moscow, where he was also a Chinese in a foreign country and a revolutionary worker who fought for the country.
The distance between Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang became closer and closer, and the two young hearts soon sparked a spark of love, and after applying for the approval of the organization, the two received their certificates during May Day in 1928.
In the winter of 1928, Zhao Yiman became pregnant, and because of the unbearable cold in Moscow, the party organization sent Zhao Yiman back to China and secretly lurked in Jiangxi to engage in some underground work.
During an operation, the secret agency was destroyed by the enemy, and Zhao Yiman had to drag his pregnant belly to flee.
In the days when he was hunted, Zhao Yiman was hungry and almost gave birth prematurely several times, and the long-term travel and fatigue made this pregnant woman suffer a lot.
After fleeing for many days, Zhao Yiman finally met an enthusiastic dock worker who took her in.
Under the half-brick wall of the worker's home, he was able to give birth safely, gave birth to a son, and gave him a nickname: Ning'er, which means hoping for peace and tranquility in the world.
But who knows, less than a month before the production, the enemy came to the door, and the dock worker who kindly took in Zhao Yiman was captured by the enemy, and before he recovered his body, the weak Zhao Yiman had to hold his infant son and embark on the road of escape again.
In order to redeem his life-saving benefactor, Zhao Yiman pawned his wedding ring and exchanged it for some money, but was found and followed by spies on the road.
After the September 18 Incident in 1931, Zhao Yiman received an arrangement from the party organization and asked her to go to the northeast to carry out anti-Japanese work.
Although it is difficult to leave her young children in her heart, but the task of saving the country is ahead, she can't just care about the love of her children in front of her, and the people who are in dire straits need her more than her son!
Before leaving, she took her 3-year-old son to the photo studio, and the two took a group photo.
After returning home, Zhao Yiman wrote another letter, with a photo of herself and her son, and sent it to her husband in Moscow.
Subsequently, she entrusted Ning'er to her husband's cousin to raise her, and she stepped on the train to the Northeast War Zone alone.
After arriving in the northeast, in order to hide her identity, she took the name Zhao Yiman for herself, but as everyone knows, this simple name has left an indelible mark in the hearts of countless Chinese.
During his tenure as a member of the Political and Legal Committee of the Second Regiment of the People's Revolutionary Army and the Third Army in Harbin, Zhao Yiman adhered to his consistent excellent style and led the people in an indomitable struggle.
Under her command, several victories against the Japanese were achieved.
For a time, Zhao Yiman's reputation for bravery, agility and intelligence spread all over the streets and alleys, and people all admired this heroine who was both wise and brave.
Even the world-famous writer Mr. Guo Moruo wrote poems and praised her: "The female political commissar with a red gun and a white horse is willing to warm her blood and enrich China." ”
Although she has had no worries about food and clothing since she was a child, and now she has made some achievements in political performance, Zhao Yiman is not a person who is proud of her achievements, and in the eyes of the people, she is even a little "ordinary".
With short black hair, a black velvet hat, a gray cotton jacket and black cotton pants, at first glance she looks just the dress of ordinary people, but her eyes always reveal a resolute light, which makes people see her special at a glance.
In the army, Zhao Yiman took great care of the soldiers and never let a soldier lack clothes and food.
Therefore, when the fighters refer to her, they often affectionately refer to her as "our female commissar".
But on the battlefield, Zhao Yiman is another face, although as a woman, she is never cowardly, she always rushes into the enemy army first, protects her soldiers behind her, like a she-wolf who protects her calves, so that the enemy is terrified.
So much so that when the bounty announcement was announced, the enemy even called her "the queen of the jungle who rode a white horse with two spears on her shoulder".
In November 1935, the team led by Zhao Yiman clashed with the Japanese puppet army on the side of the railway.
Due to the large number of enemy troops, Zhao Yiman was deeply besieged and could not extricate herself, but at the critical moment, she still maintained her usual calmness and commanded the soldiers to change their tactics and resist stubbornly with great composure.
Under the correct command of Zhao Yiman, the team members successfully broke through the enemy's encirclement and evacuated one after another, but she was hit in the left wrist by a sudden bullet on the way to cover the team.
On the way to escape, she was hit in the thigh by a stray bullet, and the blood flowed and stained her clothes.
Zhao Yiman was seriously injured and could not walk normally, the blood trail dragged a red dazzling trace on the ground, the location had been exposed, she lost too much blood and her consciousness gradually blurred, and when she woke up again, she was already in the prison of the enemy army.
After Zhao Yiman**, the enemy army knew that her identity was very important in the Communist Party, and there must be a lot of intelligence information hidden on her body, so how to pry her mouth open became the top priority in prison.
However, no matter what kind of torture the Japanese army inflicted on Zhao Yiman, she could never make her spit out half a word, and in the face of inhumane torture, she scoffed at it and would rather die.
After several severe tortures, she was already seriously injured, and her life was in danger.
Considering that once Zhao Yiman died, it would be more difficult for the Japanese army to obtain useful information, so on December 13, 1935, after careful consideration, the Japanese army sent her to the First Hospital in Harbin for ** and sent someone to monitor her.
In 1936, a full half-year period was carried out in the hospital.
Zhao Yiman has been monitored by the Japanese army 24 hours a day, and gives her ** day after day, in a vain attempt to squeeze information favorable to the Japanese army from her.
However, Zhao Yiman always kept silent, whether the enemy threw her sugar-coated shells or personal threats, she turned a blind eye, so angry that the enemy was red-eyed, and wanted to skin her alive immediately.
After the body gradually, Zhao Yiman has been looking for an opportunity to escape, she has taken a fancy to the woman who has been taking care of her around her, taking advantage of the woman's easy soft-heartedness, and constantly instilling in her the idea of resisting Japan and saving the country, every time she changes the medicine, she will talk to this ** for a long time.
Over time, even the Japanese puppet army guarding the ward was moved by Zhao Yiman, and lamented that she was seriously injured but did not forget to save the country and save the people.
So, the ** guard and Zhao Yiman formed a team and started an escape plan.
Due to the initial recovery of the leg injury, Zhao Yiman was still unable to walk normally, in order to raise the cost of hiring a car, ** Han Yongyi resolutely sold the two gold rings and coats that his father prepared for her marriage, in exchange for 60 yuan in cash as expenses during the escape.
On July 28, 1936, the three of them finally ushered in the opportunity, and on a rainy night, the caretaker Dong Xianxun first hired a car to pick up Zhao Yiman at the hospital.
Under the cover of heavy rain and night, she was delivered to the Temple of Literature, and then transferred to a small sedan chair to walk through the alleys, avoiding the eyes of the enemy.
In this way, the three escaped from Harbin to the countryside, and it was already dawn the next day, and the policemen who went to the hospital to change shifts would surely soon find out the news that the three had escaped.
After discovering that Zhao Yiman was missing, the Japanese army quickly launched an arrest, the transportation was not developed at that time, and there were only a handful of cars in the city, and Zhao Yiman's leg injury had not healed, and he would inevitably escape with the help of a car.
Therefore, after some searching, the Japanese army quickly mastered Zhao Yiman's whereabouts.
In the early morning of July 30, it was less than 10 kilometers from the communist guerrilla zone.
The carriage that Zhao Yiman and the three of them were riding was about to reach their destination, but unfortunately they were caught up by the Japanese soldiers who rushed to catch up, and Zhao Yiman was escorted back to the prison in Harbin again.
The second time, the punishment was far more painful than the first time, as if venting anger, the whip in the hands of the torturers hit Zhao Yiman's thin and thin back like raindrops, torturing her to faint several times.
Tiger chairs, soldering irons, iron bars, electrocution and countless other inhuman punishments all fell on Zhao Yiman.
The Japanese army did everything, but despite this, Zhao Yiman still did not reveal any news about our party to the Japanese army, and her eyes were always clear and resolute.
In prison, Zhao Yiman thought of his young son who was still in his hometown, I don't know how he is now, how tall he is, whether he has begun to read and write, since five years ago, he has never seen each other, and now he is more than lucky, and I am afraid that he will never have the opportunity to hug her child again.
Zhao Yiman is loyal to the party and conscientious, but he only owes endless debts to his son.
When he was still in the womb, he fled with him, and was born with the help of well-wishers, and lived a life of exile when he was still an infant.
Now that he is under the fence and has no parents to rely on, every time he thinks of this time, Zhao Yiman's heart is painful.
Knowing that she had no chance to escape, Zhao Yiman asked the prison guards for a pen and paper, and when the Japanese soldiers saw her speak, they thought she was going to write information about the Communist Party, and they were very happy, but they didn't know that it was a suicide note from her.
Finally, the Japanese army's patience ran out, gave up the torture of Zhao Yiman, and gave her order in anger.
On August 2, 1936, Zhao Yiman was escorted by the Japanese army to Zhuhe County for execution, and paraded all the way through the streets.
In the cage, although Zhao Yiman was staggering, he couldn't even stand steadily, his body was full of terrifying wounds, and blood couldn't stop oozing out.
Every time the car shook, the wound on her body cracked open a point, but even so, Zhao Yiman's face still maintained a calm appearance.
There was no trace of panic in her eyes, and although she was already weak, Zhao Yiman still used all her strength to shout: "Down with Japanese imperialism!" Long live the Communist Party of China! ”
Before the execution, a Japanese officer asked Zhao Yiman if he had any last words to say.
She handed over a letter she had written to her young son in the car the day before yesterday and said, "Give my suicide note to my son from my hometown, and he will continue my mission." ”
Then, he held his head high and fearlessly greeted the guns of the Japanese army, and when he died, Zhao Yiman was only 31 years old.
Zhao Yiman's sacrifice is heavy and brilliant, and she has proved the indomitable will of the Chinese people with her life.
For the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, she gloriously sacrificed her life and became a hero of the people.
She dyed the land of China red with blood, and let countless descendants forever remember her heroic deeds, leaving a strong mark in history.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, ** personally wrote an inscription for Zhao Yiman: "Anti-Japanese national hero, Zhao Yiman martyr immortal!" ”
In today's Nangang District of Harbin, there is a Yiman Street, and next to Yiman Street is Yiman Park.
In order to commemorate this great national hero, the Northeast Martyrs Memorial Hall was rebuilt and Zhao Yiman exhibition area was specially set up.
In the exhibition area, a dilapidated suitcase is particularly conspicuous, which is the small suitcase that Zhao Yiman has been carrying on the way to escape.
To this day, it still shines brightly in the light, as if telling the legendary life of its owner.
