This 80-square-metre two-bedroom apartment belongs to a young couple with a cat and a dog. They have a love for life and have their own unique lifestyle and preferred home style. In the early stage of the design, they fully communicated with the designer to clarify each other's ideas, and the two sides quickly reached a consensus.
The design focuses on living functions and living atmosphere. By adjusting the floor plan, the designers ensured that the interior flow was smooth and that the common areas and rest areas were clearly divided. While meeting individual needs, new design concepts are introduced to create a very happy living environment for homeowners.
The original unit was 80 square meters with two bedrooms, two living rooms, one kitchen and one bathroom, which was moderate in size and function for the owner. However, there are several unreasonable aspects of the house structure:
1. The hall is seen when you enter the house, but it lacks the storage function of the entrance.
2. The kitchen is closed, the space is small, and the sense of use is not good.
3. The living room is relatively small as a whole.
4. The bathroom lacks dry and wet partitions.
Highlights of the transformation:
1. Add a storage room near the entrance door to solve the storage needs of the entrance and public areas.
2. Connect the balcony with the living room to optimize the lighting and space area.
3. Remove the non-load-bearing wall, open up the kitchen, enhance the sense of visual openness, and improve the interaction with the living room.
4. Add a dry area to the bathroom, and an external sink to achieve dry and wet separation.
5. Re-plan the circulation line to make it more simple and smooth, in line with daily life habits.
Living room. Although the unit is not too large, it is open to the north and south, and the entrance is a large horizontal hall, which makes people feel bright and spacious. Especially after the removal of the kitchen partition wall, an open layout is formed, which makes the whole space appear more spacious.
The living room was originally small, so the balcony was integrated to expand the living room area and improve the lighting effect.
The bedroom door is on the left side of the TV wall, and the material is consistent with the wall paint to achieve the "stealth" effect, making the vision more refreshing and not destroying the overall sense of the TV wall.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows allow maximum sunlight and double curtains allow for easy and flexible daylighting needs. White gauze curtains create a wonderful atmosphere in the sunlight.
When the curtains are opened, the greenery rushes into the face, and the boundary between the interior and exterior seems to disappear. In the leisure time, holding hot coffee in hand, sitting on a chair by the balcony, putting on a light **, as if the fatigue of the day has dissipated in this tranquility.
Whether it's sunny or rainy, the greenery outside the window is always a pleasure.
The interior is decorated in a natural style, with wooden floors, greenery, wooden chairs, small coffee tables and hand-woven carpets that complement each other to create an oxygen-filled environment.
The sofa is chosen in gray, which can be matched with various styles and can be adapted to the home environment with furry children.
The TV set complements the black and white background, and the TV bench continues the theme of nature.
The floor lamp has a unique shape and turns on at dusk, filling the room with a soft yellow light, instantly enhancing the atmosphere of the home.
Kitchen. Behind the sofa is an open kitchen with a cleverly set bar as a separate from the living room. The sturdy furniture behind provides more psychological security for the person sitting on the sofa.
The design of the open kitchen makes the whole entrance area more open, and the thin cabinet on the left side of the entrance not only solves the problem of storing shoes, but also provides a perforated board above to facilitate the hanging of sundries.
The kitchen and island are made of white marble countertops, and the upper and lower cabinets are made of retro green, forming a fresh and natural overall style of white + green, highlighting the noble quality.
The slotted island shortens the distance between the kitchen and the L-shaped operating table, forming a U-shaped migration line, maximizing the use of space and being convenient and practical. Kitchen appliances are recessed under the island to ensure a clean space and a comfortable cooking environment.
On the side wall of the kitchen, the perforated board is used to store kitchenware supplies and tools, making the space more practical.
Restaurant. Light shines through the balcony windows into the dining room, and the herringbone parquet floors create a sense of openness and grandeur.
The rounded corners of the dining table reduce collisions during daily walking, and the attention to detail gives a sense of security. The dining room is lit with white spherical paper lamps, presenting a Japanese style of tranquility and elegance.
Different forms of storage are set up on both sides of the restaurant, and on one side is a simple white wall with open shelves, where books, aromatherapy, knick-knacks and other items are placed to form a pleasing art display wall.
On the other side, there is a finished sideboard and small shelves, which can hold cutlery, condiments, etc., and all kinds of greenery fill the corner.
The dining room balcony has black-framed glass folding doors that do not interfere with lighting and ventilation, and a washer and dryer are stacked on top of it.
Toilet. The dry area of the restroom has been moved to a central location, making it easier to wash hands after entering the home and before eating.
The hollow brick is used as a partition, which is practical and beautiful, increases the transparency of the space, and presents the interest of light and shadow cutting.
The hanging log vanity has clean lines, the multi-level partition storage cabinet under the rock slab can accommodate a large number of toiletries and skin care products, and the white marble basin with avocado green square bricks is fresh and natural for daily cleaning.
The wet area separates the toilet from the shower again, and the glass brick wall is used as a partition to increase the amount of light and protect privacy.
Master bedroom. As a lounge space, the master bedroom has no complicated design, and the glass brick wall of the bathroom on the side acts as a decoration. The open shelves are matched with closed cabinets, and the shelves can be placed with green plants, aromatherapy and other atmospheric tools.
The cabinet on the whole side is beautiful and atmospheric, and the internal partition ensures neatly sorted storage, and properly places the daily clothes of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The bedside table features walnut-coloured vintage furniture that echoes the brown shade of the bedside back, creating a nostalgic and retro tranquil atmosphere.
Second bedroom. Looking from the living room to the second bedroom, the ** door is used, and the hanging paintings at the door add an artistic atmosphere to the white wall. There is also a small kennel specially prepared for the dogs at the door.
The interior of the second bedroom is dominated by white walls and logs, and the high-saturation green cabinet at the head of the bed is the finishing touch. Despite the lack of extravagant décor, it exudes a warm and fresh family atmosphere.
One dog, one cat, two occupants, three meals, four seasons ......From appearance to practicality, this home is full of positive vitality and companionship at all times and in all places. This may be what many young people's ideal home looks like!
