Directory Description:
The List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding is part of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and aims to safeguard intangible cultural heritage that is at serious risk of disappearing.
The list is updated every two years and is reviewed by a committee of experts from around the world based on factors such as the degree of endangerment, cultural value and representativeness of the property.
Properties inscribed on the List will receive the attention and support of the international community and will be eligible for assistance in nomination for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage**.
