GEMÜ poppet valve 312 valve principle and design technology.

Poppet valves: applications and industries.

Poppet valves are ideal for fast on/off changes, high temperatures, and control applications. They are widely used in steam control and water treatment.

The main areas of application are various applications in industrial processes, as well as aseptic and hygienic applications in pharmaceutical, food and biotechnology.

Poppet Valve: Valve Principle.

Poppet valves are ideal for controlling and regulating mechanical purity, chemically neutral or weakly corrosive liquids, gases, or vapors.

In this process, a flat gasket, usually made of PTFE, is pressed against the sealing fit, which shuts down the volumetric flow. There is a difference between a straight seat valve and an angle seat valve.

Seat valves are typically used for larger nominal diameters and are also available in a three-way version, ideal for mixing or switching tasks.

Even if the stress applied to the valve is highest due to high flow rates and frequent readjustments, a straight seat valve is desirable because the force applied to the stem is more uniform.

Inclined seat valves are lighter, more compact, and have a relatively high flow value (kvs).

All standard versions are suitable for medium temperatures up to 180°C and operating pressures up to 40 bar.

In the modified version, temperatures of up to 300°C are no problem. Due to the good mechanical properties of the poppet design, it is particularly suitable for high switching variations, filling and metering tasks. They are also an option for industrial or sterile steam generation and distribution.

In addition to the above-mentioned valve principles, GEMÜ also offers a wide range of coordinated accessories for automation and process optimization. Electrical sensors, position and process controllers, sensors and measuring devices can be quickly and easily set up, adjusted and integrated into existing process control technology.

Description. The GEM 312 3-way inline seat valve features a robust, low-maintenance aluminium piston drive with pneumatic actuation. The valve disc sealed on both sides is connected to the actuator by the stem.

The stem is sealed by a self-adjusting gland packing; This ensures low maintenance and reliable stem sealing, even after long runs.

A wiper ring on the front of the stuffing box stuffing provides additional protection of the seal from dirt and damage.

Characteristic. Suitable for mixing and dispensing media.

Robust aluminium drive housing.

Can be used as a shut-off valve or control valve.

The parts that come into contact with the working medium can be adapted to the requirements of the respective application.
