On February 21, the fifth lecture of the "Procurement & Chain Lecture Hall" jointly sponsored by the Public Procurement Branch of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the Procurement and Chain Management Committee was held online.

This live broadcast is the first lecture in the series of selected courses on the knowledge system of "** Chain Management Expert (SCMP)", inviting Hu Min, vice chairman of the Procurement and ** Chain Expert Committee of China Federation of Things and General Manager of Beijing Lesimen Consulting Co., Ltd., to explain the topic of ""* Chain Operation" Selected Course: "Collaborative Optimization and Efficient Control of ** Chain - * Chain Management Expert (SCMP) Knowledge System Introduction".

It is understood that the "* Chain Management Expert (SCMP)" certification project is developed by more than 40 top domestic experts organized by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and is the only professional certification project of chain management with independent intellectual property rights in China. The project is based on the professional education of ** chain management, adheres to the principle of sustainable renewal and specialization, and is in line with international standards, and provides an authoritative certification knowledge system for the procurement, logistics, operation, planning and other personnel in the first chain related positions of the majority of enterprises. In September 2023, the new edition of the "SCMP" series of books will be officially published, and the new version of the exam will be launched in March 2024.

During the live broadcast, Hu Min introduced the new version of the SCMP knowledge system and the first module of SCMP - the knowledge system of "Chain Operation", and briefly interpreted the basic content of the eight chapters of "Chain Overview, Customer Demand Management and Delivery, Inventory Management Basics, Logistics Management, Production Operation, Service Operation, Procurement Operation, and Quality Management" in "**Chain Operation".

Hu Min said that the first chain management can affect the formulation of enterprise strategy, and its three major functions of plan management, procurement management and logistics management can support the strategic objectives of the first chain of the enterprise and even the competitive advantage of the enterprise. At present, the first-chain strategy of many enterprises has not been perfectly connected with the enterprise strategy, which is neither fully reflected in the group (enterprise) strategy, nor focused on planning at the business strategy level of the business division, but only appears as a functional strategy, or even only a partial extension of the procurement strategy.

He pointed out that at present, the speed of product update and iteration in many industries is accelerating, and the life cycle is also getting shorter, which increases the difficulty of the first industry and needs to be reshaped by the first chain. On the other hand, the development trend of the green chain and the increasing risks of the chain have posed challenges to the operation of enterprises, and how to better carry out the management of the chain has become an important topic in the strategic planning of enterprises in the future.

At the same time, the development and change of information technology is also a trend that cannot be ignored for the management of the first chain. Hu Min introduced that Gartner, an American information technology analysis company, released 8 major trends in **chain technology in 2020, including artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, Internet of Things, machine automation, automatic devices, digital twins, immersive experiences and blockchain. If enterprises want to stand out in the first-chain competition, they need to pay full attention to these technologies.

In addition, Hu Min also introduced the special contents of the first chain management and ESG (sustainable development), customer order analysis, accounts receivable management, logistics model, and production organization model in the 8 chapters of "**Chain Operation".
