Cairo, January 29 (People's Daily Online) -- The China Cultural Center in Cairo recently successfully held the 2024 "Chinese New Year Cultural Experience Activity". Nearly 100 people attended the event, including Yang Ronghao, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, Shao Bin, Deputy Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, Dr. Ma Weimin, Representative of Badr University, Professor Rasha Kamal, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Language and Translation of Badr University, Ms. Chen Lifan, Volunteer Management Teacher of the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation in Chinese and Foreign Languages, teachers and students of the Department of Chinese at the School of Language and Translation of Badr University, and students of the Chinese Language Training Course of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo.
In his speech, Yang Ronghao said that the Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese nation, symbolizing new beginnings and hopes, and also contains rich Chinese cultural connotations. On behalf of the China Cultural Center in Cairo, Yang Ronghao thanked Egyptian cultural, artistic, cultural relics, tourism, education and other institutions and friends from all walks of life for their support and cooperation in the past year, wished the friendly Egyptian people greater development and progress in the new year, and looked forward to the new decade of the China-Egypt strategic partnership, China and Egypt and the peoples of China and Egypt will continue to work together and achieve more brilliant achievements, and wish the friendship between the two peoples will last forever.
In his speech, Ma Weimin reviewed the cooperation between Badr University and the China Cultural Center in Cairo, and hoped to carry out more in-depth exchanges and cooperation with the center in the new year.
On the same day, the center was decorated with lights in the courtyard and auditorium, the five-star red flag fluttered in the wind, and traditional Chinese cultural elements such as red lanterns, Chinese knots, red posters, and giant pandas decorated the center with a festive atmosphere. The students of the center and the teachers and students of Badr University performed wonderful cultural programs together, and experienced activities such as "making dumplings", "tea art" and "writing blessing characters". The event ended successfully after tasting the steaming and fragrant dumplings made by yourself.
The 2024 "Chinese New Year Cultural Experience Activity" is the first of the 2024 series of "Happy New Year" cultural activities launched by the China Cultural Center in Cairo.
