The reporter learned from the University of Science and Technology of China on the 5th that Professor Cui Linsong's research group cooperated with the team of the University of Cambridge in the United KingdomA new strategy to improve the performance of blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs) has been developed, which has successfully broken through the performance bottleneck of blue perovskite LEDs and solved important problems in this field. The research results were recently published in the journal Nature Photonics.

Due to its superior luminous performance and low cost, perovskite LED has become a new generation of light-emitting and display technology with great potential. However, at present, the development of blue perovskite LEDs is relatively lagging behind, and its performance is far behind that of perovskite LEDs of other light colors, so the realization of high-performance blue perovskite LEDs is a bottleneck in this field at this stage.

In order to solve the above problems, the research team designed and developed a multifunctional organic ion stabilizer with resonant electronic states Bis(triphenyl-n-phosphine) ammonium chloride (PPNCL), which realizes the precise regulation of the composition and distribution of perovskite phases, inhibits the non-radiative composite channels and ion migration phenomena in perovskites, and greatly improves the efficiency and stability of blue perovskite LEDs.

This research result has successfully achieved high-efficiency and stable blue perovskite LEDs. At an emission wavelength of 483 nm, the device has a peak external quantum efficiency of up to 214%,It is currently the most efficient blue perovskite LED. At the same time, the stability of the device has been improved by nearly 30 times.
