Viewers who have watched David Wood's "Muthore Boulevard" will remember that the protagonists Betty and Rita entered a mysterious Silencio, a silent club that has recently reappeared in New York, showing the same spirit and different faces.
The newly opened Silencio New York Pavilion is a little different from the Paris Pavilion. Harry Nurie, a designer who has collaborated with Nike, Balenciaga and others, covered the walls with red velvet, while the backs of the gold benches climbed along the walls like giant mirrors. The dance floor, which is also golden, reflects red lights and illuminates the dark space.
Harry Nurie, who works with a variety of materials, has created the Silencio New York Pavilion as a surreal and dynamic world of mystery that pays homage to the legendary nightclub that makes it what New York looks like. Harry Nuriev also wanted to respect and preserve the spirit and style of David's Groves in Silencio in Paris, but he was even more reluctant to simply copy and paste. Harry Nuriev was inspired by Silencio New York, located near Studio 54, a legendary 1970s nightclub, and added a New York twist to Silencio.
New York-based Silencio has created new and experimental landmarks through curation** and events such as films and exhibitions, as well as private charters, allowing New Yorkers to step into this magical and surreal world.
