During the pandemic, many people have discovered their culinary talents at home, making the kitchen the most relieving place. For the designer in this case, the most commonly used space in the home should be the kitchen, which is an area worth digging into.In today's renovation, we focused on the kitchen and made important changes to the original layout. Since there was no dining room in the original house, we set up an island in the kitchen to open the kitchen and provide a place for communication, gathering, entertainment and office.
This change injects a richer life scene into the small house, which significantly improves the view and atmosphere of the whole house, and makes the 61 house spacious, including 2 living rooms, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a separate cloakroom.
This is a young couple, the male protagonist is engaged in real estate and the female protagonist is a graphic designer. The two have high requirements for the quality of life, focus on their careers, have no plans to have children for the time being, and only have a pet.
They have a clear claim to live:
1. There are only two people in the family, so the living should be comfortable.
2. The kitchen needs to be open so that two people can interact at any time.
3. The heroine wants to have an independent cloakroom.
A new layout for a compact unit.
The original three-bedroom unit was compact and unreasonable due to the small kitchen, poor permeability and bathroom layout. Our retrofit highlights include:
1. Remove the non-load-bearing wall that surrounds the kitchen, and push the left bedroom 20 cm to form a horizontal plane with the left wall of the entrance.
2. The two secondary bedrooms on the left side were merged to create a master bedroom suite with a cloakroom and bathroom.
3. The area of the main bathroom was reduced, the space was used for the sleeping area, and the original aisle was fully utilized to set up a laundry area and a secondary wardrobe.
4. Use part of the space of the guest bathroom on the right side to realize the independent separation of the three functional areas.
The large shoe cabinet and sideboard on the right side of the entrance are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The shoe cabinet adopts a closed corrugated cabinet door, which is neat and layered, effectively storing the couple's shoes throughout the year.
The other half is the sideboard, through the three-section design, the top layer is made of asymmetrical ultra-white Changhong glass, which increases the design sense of the overall cabinet. The alcove in the middle is used to store equipment such as paper, keys and stereos, while the lower level is used to store the living room sundries.
The wavy side of the mirror on the left side of the entrance and the end view design on the opposite side show a sense of luxury and meticulous taste. The attention to these small details brings the overall space to life. The lighting problem in the entrance has also been solved, and the overall space is brighter and more transparent after the kitchen wall is removed.
The kitchen is located directly in front of the entryway, and the cabinets in cream and vertical grain continue the design of the hallway cabinets.
A dishwasher is intelligently embedded between the cooking area and the sink, leaving your hands free. This design not only simplifies the waterway modification, but also makes it easier to clean the dishes on a daily basis.
The cabinet counter cleverly accommodates the owner's coffee corner, and every morning turns on the stereo, brews a cup of coffee, and sits by the island to welcome the start of the day.
On the right-hand side is the living room area, which is arranged diagonally with the kitchen to expand the view.
The corner of the balcony adds a sense of wrapping to the living room through the design of the curved wall, and at the same time cleverly blocks the curtain track, making the overall vision more concise.
The whole home is decorated in soft cream tones, with subtle textures that shine through the light of the curtains. Cream-coloured sofas, coffee tables and metallic floor lamps create the perfect balance of modernity and comfort.
The TV bench maintains the overall cream color scheme, which forms a harmonious match with the floor lamp.
The hallway leading to the master bedroom and study has been remodeled to not only serve as a connection, but also to meet more living needs.
After part of the wall was removed, the hallway leading to the master bedroom was set up with a laundry area, and the hallway leading to the study was turned into a washroom area.
The laundry area outside the master bedroom door is considered to be the closest to the secondary wardrobe, making it the best choice for housework.
The presence of stair pipe wells causes the walls to exhibit many chamfers. The designers have cleverly structured these corners through the design of the concave structure, so that the corridors can be fully utilized.
The remodeled master bedroom is an ensuite and includes a bathroom and a separate cloakroom. The cream-colored walls, the curved ceiling, and the half-wall of cement gray + wood veneer in the background of the bedside make the whole space rich in layers.
The main bathroom is enhanced by the introduction of glass curtain wall to attract light, which improves the overall aesthetic and lighting effect.
In order to ensure that the aisle is spacious, the main bathroom area has been moderately reduced, retaining the necessary washing and toileting functions, which meet the daily needs without looking crowded.
The foot of the bed is designed with a 3The 8-square-meter cloakroom creates an ideal space for the heroine.
The overall layout is L-shaped, and the dimensions of each partition are planned in advance, including the hanging area of the double-layer boom, the area on the top to store the bedding and the open compartment on the side, providing a proper storage solution for bags and other items.
At present, the study is mainly used as an office area for the couple.
The guest bathroom has been renovated to realize the separation of the washing area in the aisle, which adapts to the needs of multiple people at the same time during peak hours. Alcoves and drawers provide additional storage space.
The wet area is in a uniform colour palette and the shower area is made of creamy white microcement bricks for a clean and seamless effect.
