Israel's brutal repression of Gaza late last year has resulted in the deaths or injuries of many innocent people. Such a brutal act has provoked great anger in South Africa. South Africa has taken Israel's "genocide" against Gaza to the International Court of Justice.
Just one day before this "International Day", an international tribunal of the United Nations handed down an urgent verdict calling on Israel to end all *** and to strengthen humanitarian conditions in Gaza. The European Union, Iran, Qatar, Turkey, Spain, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and numerous other international institutions have ruled on this.
Some may feel that this judgment is of little use because the United Nations international tribunal has no enforcement rights, and Israel or the United States has ignored it.
However, I think this verdict is very valuable, because South Africa has used its own legal means to vigorously resist Western powers, and at the same time opened up a new battlefield outside the Middle East.
First, South Africa's complaint against Israel is a highly ironic accusation. We mentioned this issue in the previous column, so let's talk about it a little bit now.
After World War II, the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide to avoid a repeat of the mistakes of the German Nazis. And now, South Africa is actually using this treaty to report Israel's criminal behavior. It's ironic.
Second, the judgment was made by a formal international tribunal, not a "pheasant court" established by Western countries for their own selfish purposes. What's even more interesting is that those "pheasant courts" have also justifiably demanded the arrest of Russian ** Putin in the past year. If the United States really doesn't even pay attention to a formal international tribunal this time, it will be a slap in the face, and these "pheasant courts" signboards.
Third, Western interference in the internal affairs of developing countries is often carried out under the banner of "democracy, freedom, and human rights." Now, South Africa has condemned Israel as a "genocide" committed by Israel. This leaves Western countries with two paths: one is to remain tolerant of Israel and expose its hypocrisy, and the other is to distance itself from Israel.
All in all, South Africa has dealt a huge blow to Israel with legal means, and I think it has opened up a new battlefield outside the Middle East. Even, many people began to follow the right path and began to question the hegemony of the United States. I think that those days when the West manipulated morality are over!
