Academics take the lead to promote Tibetan medicine culture to the world

On August 25, the Fifth Academic Annual Meeting of the Tibetan Medicine Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and the First General Meeting of the Council were held in Xining. More than 300 delegates from home and abroad attended the meeting.

The General Assembly passed the election and elected the chairman of Qinghai Jiumei Tibetan Medicine Group and Tibetan medicine scientist Jiumei Phuntsok as the new chairman of the council. At the same time, 25 vice presidents, 57 executive directors and 110 directors were elected. It is understood that in 2015, the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and Qinghai Jiumei Tibetan Medicine Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. jointly established the "World Federation of Tibetan Medicine Professional Committee", which is committed to the inheritance, excavation and development of Tibetan medicine.

At the election meeting, Jigme Phuntsok introduced that the focus of the new Tibetan Medicine Professional Committee is to focus on the frontier issues of the standardization of Tibetan medicine and carry out strategic planning research; Perform the decision-making and advisory functions of the committee, provide consulting services and actively participate in the standardization work of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies; Integrate advantageous resources and strengthen international cooperation and exchanges. He expressed the hope that Tibetan medicine will further strengthen inter-regional exchanges, so that Tibetan medicine from all localities and schools will form a team and a force, and at the same time, it will strengthen communication among all links and open up channels, so as to promote the international standardization of Tibetan medicine.

During the two-day conference, the Tibetan Medicine Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine arranged five special meetings, including keynote speeches by experts, modernization of Tibetan medicine, research on traditional Tibetan medicine, remembrance of famous and old Tibetan medicine, and exchange of experience of famous and old Tibetan medicine. Forty-five scholars made special speeches, covering the basic theory of Tibetan medicine, clinical practice, diagnosis and treatment methods, international dissemination, modern research on Tibetan medicine, and disease research combining Tibetan medicine and modern science.
