A retelling of the real situation of a child from southern China studying in Russia...
During my time studying abroad in Russia, I experienced many ups and downs and challenges. When I first arrived in October '21, I could barely adjust to this unfamiliar environment. Differences in language, culture, and lifestyle make me feel stressful. However, over time, I gradually learned how to cope with these challenges and gradually adapted to life here. First of all, language is the biggest challenge I face in Russia. Although I had already learned some Russian in my country, it was only after I actually came here that I realized that my language level was far from enough. In class, I often feel lost because I can't understand the lecture and can't express my thoughts. However, I didn't give up. I took the initiative to talk to my teachers and classmates and communicate with them as much as I could. I also used my spare time to teach Russian on my own, watching Russian movies and listening to Russian songs to improve my language skills. Gradually, I found myself able to communicate better with the locals, which made me feel more gratified. I also understand that learning a language really needs to be integrated into the environment. In addition to the language challenges, I also faced differences in culture and lifestyle. In Russia, people's lifestyles and cultural habits are very different from those at home. For example, loud noises in public are not allowed, and people are not used to visiting their homes. There are many people who have to queue up, and smoking is not allowed indoors, these rules make me feel very restricted.
In addition, winters in Russia are very cold, and I grew up in the south and am not used to this cold weather. There is no problem indoors, it can be kept at about 25 degrees, and the short sleeves of the single shirt are sufficient. But it was really cold outside, snot and tears flowed together when I went out, and I realized that these were all difficulties that I had to overcome. Slowly I learned to respect the local culture and way of life and try to fit in. I also put on a heavy winter coat down and learned to keep warm in cold weather. In the process of adapting to life in Russia, I also gradually discovered the advantages and charms of the country. Russia has a long history and a rich cultural heritage. In my spare time, I visited museums, art galleries and historical sites to learn about Russian history and culture. In addition, I also tasted local delicacies such as beetroot soup, caviar and kebabs, which made me feast. During my study in Russia, I also met many classmates and friends from different countries. We interact with each other and learn from each other's cultures and languages, which gives me a broader perspective on the world. We spent many unforgettable moments together and explored this beautiful country and city together. Through this study abroad experience, I have not only learned the ability to adapt to a new environment, but also the ability to think independently and solve problems. Studying abroad is not only to learn professional knowledge, but also to cultivate one's comprehensive quality and cross-cultural communication skills. In the days to come, I will continue to cherish this valuable experience and strive to apply the knowledge and experience I have learned in Russia to practical work and life. All in all, I learned a lot from my experience studying in Russia. Although I faced many challenges and difficulties at first, through perseverance and learning, I eventually adapted to life here and gained many valuable experiences and memories. I am sure that this experience will be a wonderful memory that I will never forget.
