In order to display the 2023 excellent books of the Writers Publishing House, promote and lead the publication of high-quality books, and recommend high-quality books for readers, on January 8, the 2023 Good Books Expert Selection Meeting of the Writers Publishing House was held in the Modern Literature Museum. Wu Yiqin, member of the party group, secretary and vice chairman of the Chinese Writers Association, Yan Jingming, vice chairman of the China Writers Association, Shi Zhanjun, member of the party group, secretary of the China Writers Association and editor-in-chief of "People's Literature", Deng Kai, secretary of the Chinese Writers Association, and Bao Jian, chairman of the Writers Publishing House, attended the event. This year's jury is composed of literary critics, editors-in-chief of literary journals, and professionals in the film and television industry. Among the nearly 500 books published by China Writers Publishing House in 2023, a total of 36 works were shortlisted for the final evaluation. After deliberation and selection, the expert judges finally selected 20 "2023 Good Books with the Most Film and Television Adaptation Value" and 4 sets of "Special Tribute Books".
Wu Yiqin briefly introduced the publication of key books related to the Writers Club in 2023. He said that this year, the Writers Publishing House has published a lot of excellent original novels, and the translation and publication of foreign literary works has also been fruitful. At the same time, he emphasized that while insisting on the foundation and importance of social benefits, economic benefits are indispensable, and hoped that the Writers' Club will pay more attention to the combination of social benefits and economic benefits in the future book publishing work.
The jury unanimously agreed that the 36 books shortlisted for the final evaluation can be used as high-quality representatives of the 2023 Writers Society, with a wide range of themes, rich content and profound ideas.

In order to summarize the important publishing trends of the year and express gratitude and respect to the works of classic writers, the Writers Publishing House has set up a special "Annual Tribute Book" for the selection of the best books of the year, and the four "Annual Tribute Books" are "The Rare Book of the Year for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the Writers Publishing House", Wang Yuhua's "Wind and Rain: The Complete Works of Wang Guozhen's Poems", Huang Yongyu's "Who Else", and Guo Baochang's "Mansion Gate".
